The coronavirus disease of 2019
The coronavirus disease of 2019 is abbreviated as Covid -19. That was a name given by the World Health Organization in a press release made on 11th February 2020.It is a viral disease caused by the novel coronavirus known as SARS-COV-2 that is believed to have originated from Wuhan, China, in late 2019 from where it has spread to the entire globe (Yi et al., 2020). The Chinese World Health Organization office on 31st December 2019 reported strange pneumonia that hadn’t existed before had been recorded in Wuhan, a city in Hubei province of China. Some new infections that led to the pneumonia were caused by the new coronavirus, which was named “2019 novel coronavirus.”
The United States government has tried its level best by sensitizing citizens on how to control the spread of the virus by washing one’s hands and avoidance of touching one’s face and especially the mucus membranes thus can be rated 50% in trying to combat the same. That is because the virus is believed to thrive through the membranes examples of the eyes, nose, and mouth, which in turn lead it to the throat and to the lungs where it’s very severe as it hampers one’s breathing capacity. The government due to the democratic rights acquired overtime and the large population has not been able to place restrictions of movement to reduce the spread of the virus. These , in my opinion, has been a great challenge as it shows that although, the government is willing to protect its citizens, its unable to fully combat the pandemic, and thus would rate it at 30%.
Nevertheless, the government to control the pandemic sufficiently should increase the number of screening areas in the entire country, to allow persons to readily access health care when one feels sickly. They should also provide portable equipment for the elderly to facilitate their testing from their homes. Hospital facilities should also be added to prevent waiting for so long in queues for patients believed to have an emergency need and especially the Covid infection. The black feminists help us to better understand our rights in the fighting of this pandemic; we need to work together in solidarity as if building a new community. They also advocate being brave to fight the pandemic and with the belief that if we share, learn, and support one another, we shall overcome it.
