The Decision-making process

The Decision-making process could be confusing to individuals and may make them take too much time before coming to a consensus with their minds on what to do precisely. Individuals could either be satisficers meaning they make their decisions without worrying about getting the best outcomes out of them. They could also be maximizers, saying they would always demand to get the best results out of their decisions. Maximizers are perfectionists and would not want to get anything other than what is best of the possibilities for their choice. There is a negative correlation between maximizers and satisficers. This means that the two oppose each other so that one who employs one of the techniques would not like to apply the other. The correlation between the two was found to be -0.31748. However, the relationship between age and satisficers is positive, and the current study was found to be 0.35807. The findings of the present study are found to be similar to the results of (Roubal, Ondřej 2018 38-55).

The study, however, used a sample of one class to collect information. Even though a convenient sampling technique was applicable properly in the study, there was the possibility that it was based on an idiosyncratic frame. As a result, it is difficult to generalize the result of the current research to the broader population. Future studies should, therefore, consider using a larger sample. The future samples should also be obtained through a different sampling technique.

In conclusion, descriptive and inferential statistics were used to illustrate the relationship between maximizers and satisfaction with life as far as decision making is concerned. The findings showed a negative correlation between satisficers and maximizers. Further studies, however, need to focus on the consequences of the two forms of decision making on the socio-psychological dimensions of these individuals.
