The End of the Roman World

The Roman formed a government, which began when the Roman overthrew their Etruscan conquerors, who ruled the Roman for many years (Terrenato, Nicola). The citizens elected the representatives to rule on their behalf. The wealth class dominated the early roman republic who implemented effective policy. For example, during the war, the senate and consuls appointed a leader to rule the period of crisis. The leader had the power to make decision and control over the military, which led to reliable political power which governed the republic. The roman culture was borrowed from Greek, and the families were not only marked by blood relation(Terrenato, Nicola). They were also legally constructed in the relation of Patria. The secure connection contributed to strong power cultural relationships where the Roman law recognized patrician families as a legal entity. This paper aims to describe the reasons that led to Rome’s growth to a position of political and cultural power.

Rome becomes the most powerful state in the world in the first century BCE due to the combination of military power, political development, and economic expansion (Terrenato, Nicola). The reason that led to the expansion of Rome is the war over the land. Many independent states in Italy competed against each other for limited resources. War was a significant cause of early development. The man had to fight to acquire resources which led to the growth of Rome. The other reason that led to the growth of Rome is the frequency of welfare in early development (White, Leslie). Roman viewed their neighbours as a source of threat to the republic, where the citizens had to be protected from threats. Rome fought against hill tribes and other tribes that raided them. They did so to protect themselves. The Latin lived in politically independent cities, and their language and culture produced unity in religion, warfare, and law enforcement (White, Leslie). For example, during war and danger, they banded together for support against their enemies. It contributed to the growth of Rome, both political and cultural power.

The other reason for Rome growth is a military expansion (White, Leslie). Men were divided into classes based on their wealth because soldiers had to provide them with types of equipment. The poor men were not eligible for the military, which gave the wealthier to have a significant political influence on the citizens. Military expansion drove economic development that led to the increase of Rome and the roman culture (Terrenato, Nicola). The economic development was marked by the construction of the road network and Medaterian trade, which contributed to the growth of Rome.

They did so to protect their tribe resources and themselves from their neighbouring tribes. The military war brought people together, which led to reliable cultural power.
