The judge said his help made no sense, so he lied and lied.
Speaker 1: (00:00)
[inaudible]. Hello.
Speaker 2: (00:36)
The judge said his help made no sense, so he lied and lied.
Speaker 1: (00:42)
He was right, though.
Speaker 3: (00:45)
It didn’t ruin me,
Speaker 1: (00:49)
but I was facing a big quarter. We canceled each other out that day. In order to bring him down, I had to also lose. Everything is packed between us. Karen, we wondered if you could say something to the press. I’ve drafted some souls for you. I wondered if you and John could make a joint statement. Is there and father together because I’m not giving up. Not till the truth comes out. Well, that wasn’t a child. That was a tribal state. What about the drunk dude? As Chris was talking about, has anyone been looking for folks who are involved with them? We need answers. I’m not doing a joint statement with John. You’re on your own with him. I don’t need your notes. I know what I’m going to say.
Speaker 3: (01:59)
I wanted to place on record my thanks for the team led by detective superintendent Sean’s memory, who have brought this case to a positive conclusion today.
Speaker 2: (02:08)
We have waited over five years for this moment. This has been an extremely painful journey. But at last, we have finally received justice for our beautiful little girl, Becky.
Speaker 3: (02:22)
Sean and his team were left with virtually nothing to go on after the evidence initially gathered by Steve Fulcher had to be thrown out virtually in its entirety.
Speaker 2: (02:30)
I want to thank from the bottom of my heart, Steve [inaudible]. I will always be indebted to him for bringing my little girl
Speaker 3: (02:41)
how often they work tirelessly with the crown prosecution service to uncover new evidence and bring this case to justice. They are to be congratulated,
Speaker 2: (02:49)
but Steve should never have suffered the terrible consequences, the loss of his reputation, the loss of his career just for doing the right.
Speaker 1: (03:01)
Okay. She’s a what?
Speaker 2: (03:32)
It just comes to close Steve’s photo. This has been alarm mock case in many ways. I know it’s been a difficult journey for you personally, but how would you respond to those who say he cannot have the police riding Russia over the rights of a suspect as if it were the 1970s ago. I agree.
Speaker 4: (04:00)
I agree. But what if next time do your daughter who’s gonna miss it? And if another police officer finds himself in the position I was in, what does he do now after what’s happened to me? He would be perfectly entitled to give up on her, to take your suspect back to the police station, and let a lawyer advise him to go, no comment. Now, if she was still alive, your daughter would then inevitably die, and the police, his official position on this seems to be so be it. We’re very sorry, but she’ll just have to die then. Is that what we want?
