The Millennial Generation

While population growth projection remains constant, the number of working generation is also expected to fall as some of them quits the job market as a result of aging. There are five different working generations which are used in defining types of the workforce in the job market in the United States. Generation Baby Boomers (1946-1964), Generation-X (1965-1980), Generation-K (1977-1987), Generation-Y Millennial (1981-1994) and Generation-Z (1995-2000). However, Identify myself with millennials.

Generation y millennial is the one identify me within the five generations. This is the most recent generation in the workforce, which is characterized by an overwhelming workforce, unfair work, as well as limited control (Salzman, 2017). The reason I identify with this generation is the fact that the members of this generation are sick tired of living in accordance with their values and society as a whole.  Similarly,  i identify with millenial generation on the fact that it represents the group of people who are overwhelmed and already exhausted.

My experiences in this generation with other generations, unlike in this generation, members are not greedy. One of the advantages of working with the other generation is that they offer a field for growth by learning from them. They are always ready to offer assistance making my operation smooth (Salzman, 2017). However, when it comes to opinions, I find it challenging to associate since they are materialistic as opposed to the millennial generation in which we are concerned with our health, wellbeing and achieving our career goals. This difference makes the working relationship in terms of opinions differ. Similarly, millennial generation focuses on taking charge of our life at the working station as opposed to other generations, which possession is their priority.

One of the steps an organization should take in making sure the working generation cut across the five generations. The fact these generations having different ambitions, goals, and experiences, integrating both of them will ensure the organization is equipped with a well-experienced workforce, which will, in turn, shape the entire organization (Lewis, 2017). Therefore, by leader adopting this technique, it will help in transforming the culture of the organization to match the changing generation as opposed to dwelling one generation.
