The New York City Draft Riots” & the Civil War

Hundred of Americans were killed to make the country a slavery-free America. African Americans were released from their slavery bondage after the Civil war, and the New York City Draft made African Americans exercise their human rights amid White Americans. Also, racism against African Americans came to an end due to the two war events. After the two wars, African Americans were allowed to join the military as well as other civil jobs in the country (History.com, 2009).

Southern America’s racial attitudes during the War era forced the abolition of slavery in the Northern states. The City Draft Riots introduces learners to the Northern America views and fears of losing their job opportunities to the freed slaves in Northern America. The two events provide class-based opinions during the war period, which makes the person in power to hold on to a leadership position more tenuous than commonly thought.

The New York Draft Riots and Civil War were a race riot; many immigrants, especially whites, were uncomfortable with the increased competition for jobs for freed African Americans. As a result, the whites targeted African Americans’ homes and businesses, leading to the deaths of many people, including the armed forces. Managers should create job opportunities for all because it is essential to every economy. Managers should classify jobs according to qualification to vet only the qualified personnel in a particular position, thus reducing instances of conflicts between native and indigenous job seekers (National geographic, 2020).

The CIO is entitled to numerous tasks in an organization. The priority roles of the CIO are prioritizing the most basic needs as well as reliable systems to mitigate system failure. According to Carter et al. (2013), a successful CIO should uphold the character of creativity, understanding, risk-taking, entrepreneurial-ship, and critical thinking. The nature of creativity and risk-taking are essential to a managerial position because they make leaders to be more collaborative and have high integrity in their day-to-day activities.
