The Nose
Question 1
From Nose by Nikolai Gogol, there are two episodes. There is part one where in one morning, Ivan Yakovlevish wakes up to learn that his wife had prepared freshly baked bread. He then cuts the loaf in half, where he is shocked to see a nose in the middle. What is even stranger is that the nose belongs to Collegiate Assessor Kovalyov. The wife is seen freaking out and insists that the nose should be taken out. In the other episode, Assessor Kovalyvov wakes up, and after looking at the mirror, he notes that his nose is missing. He goes to the extent of advertising for whoever will return his nose.
Question 2
There is satirical criticism where Kovalyvov sees a very pretty girl and begins to think about how to flirt with her. However, he remembers that he does not have a nose, which makes him run away in shame.

Children enjoy playing with words; it is fun going through the adventure of joining letters into words. Pleasure originates from avoidance of pain and instinctively seeking it to satisfy one’s biological and psychological needs.

From the passage is that people use jokes to derive their pleasure, and they do not mind whether there is anything wrong concerning the joke, which gives them pleasure.
Question 3
Sensical jokes contain some grain of meaning because they are said as an illustration of what happened but through the use of funny terms. When a joke is absurd, it makes sense even though they seem silly, but they try to show the irrationality of satiation and lack of purpose.
