The rapidly evolving technology of the modern world
- The rapidly evolving technology of the modern world has enhanced our way of living; however, it has created issues that are challenging. Notably, the modern society is dependent on computer systems. The systems are used in organizations in order to store as well as process data. Moreover, the rapid development of cloud technology is being witnessed. It is now easier to store physical data inside the computer drives. The data can be sent to cloud servers, and a lot of users can have access to the data. Computer systems have undoubtedly contributed towards the quality of our lives and enhanced the speed with which we work today.
However, due to excessive usage and dependence on technology, human beings have lost their thinking and judging capabilities. The ability to think rationally and act objectively has become an issue as well. Further, the usage of the cloud to store data leads to security breaches. The number of malware attacks has increased, and users now have the choice of modifying data as they have access to it. The issue can be resolved by allowing access only to authorized users. Therefore, organizations must work towards enhancing their authorization techniques and implementing access control systems for achieving security.
- The modern society has been redefined by increasing advancements in technologies. People are increasingly drawn towards machine learning, industrial robots, and artificial intelligence. The technological tools are used because service quality and efficiency can be enhanced. On the other hand, humans are denying the fact that these technologies work due to particular programming. It is automated, and it lacks the thinking and reasoning skills of human beings.
Naturally, it can have adverse effects on the society. Moreover, the lack of jobs in the modern economy will be the effect of automation. Human beings will be replaced by more efficient machines. Organizations no longer require human labor to achieve their objectives. This, in turn, reduces the worker’s capability to save for their old age. It is expected that by 2025, $67 billion would be invested in the robotics sector. One of the main causes behind the complexity is automation cannot create new jobs. Rather, it is creating a gap in employment. In such a scenario, if the government fails to recreate jobs, it would create stagnancy in the economy. The overall productivity of the economy shall be hampered as well. Issues can be resolved by enhancing safety nets such as universal basic income.
