The U.S health care
The U.S health care was shaped by anthro-cultural values and political, economic and social experiences. Through the evolution of medical technology and science, several reforms have taken place, with its center stage being American politics. The transformations can be traced through restorative practices. During the colonial era in the United States, medicine trailed behind other countries in the world. The treatment attitude applied emphasized common sense and natural history. It also involved a robust domestic character. Some factors made the medical profession insignificant for trading. They included doing the medical practice was done in a disorderly manner, the procedures that were used were primitive, there were no instructions followed, the demand for medical services was unstable, and the medical education was inferior.
During the postcolonial period, the physicians who performed the medical services used technically and scientifically advanced services in treating the patients. They were organized and gained prestige, financial and power success. It is during this time when health care took another turn of improvement in terms of its service delivery to the patients. There was specialization in medicine where each medical practitioner specialized in the area they were best. Other changes that were introduced in the health sector included reforms in the mental health service, development of public hospitals and health centers, compensation of health workers and the rise of private insurance of health.
In the corporate era, the HMO act was created in 1973, where the employers did not focus on it critically as it was intended during its enacting. The health care delivery was controlled and managed by corporates. It was also globalized into three aspects. The need for health insurance was much recognized. Coverage in the U.S initially began as a private entity.
There is the anticipation of health occupations growth substantially after the changes encountered in the U.S health sector. Health care professionals now work in several settings with increased demand coverage of insurance. The middle-level health service practitioners have also increased recognition. There are specialists and generalized health practitioners who help in expanding the role of hospitals. Medical training has also been developed where interested people are trained according to the specialization they choose. The training is also monitored and managed to ensure the services the trainees obtain are of high quality. Later after the medical practitioners have finished their training and qualified, they are distributed in different health care facilities to offer their services.
According to the two articles, it is evident that the health service took a turn during the postcolonialpost-colonial period. Back before the health care depended on common sense and history that was told by people. It was not accurate, but people relied on it since, at that time, there was no other source to depend on. Through continuous evolution, the health sector was able to build public hospitals where the general public would obtain health services quickly. Health insurance scheme was also introduced, which indicated that people recognized the need and relevancy of health care to the people. Today those who are intended to create private health care facilities should be licensed by the relevant authority. This will help to increase the accuracy of treatment needed in the health sector.
