Another border risk that the U.S faces is the high unauthorized number of migrants. They intend to work and also live in the U.S. The United States’ borders, and also ports are always busy as many cargo containers and even a large number of permitted travelers enter the country every year. Many of the cargos are found to be illegal, while a majority of people are usually unauthorized to enter the country hence seized at the border.

When it comes to the U.S land borders, the enormous sizes of the Mexico-U.S and Canada-U.S borders are a significant challenge to the national government’s protective forces. As per the reports, the security forces are faced with difficulties in protecting the numerous entry points used by individuals and goods to get into the country. The U.S ports are also a significant security challenge. It is reported that multiple drugs and even prohibited aliens are regularly smuggled into the U.S in tiny boats. Some are even hidden among justifiable cargos carried by big commercial ships. Additionally, over 87million individuals get into the U.S annually through airports. The U.S airports are hence another main entry point for possible terrorists.

One of the illegal resolutions is intimidating the Muslims by deporting them over unnecessary mistakes or not allowing them to obtain visas. The intimidation is due to the belief that most Muslims are connected to terrorism. Other harsh solutions are the narrowing of avenue for filling for asylum and tightening the criteria used to grant asylum. Separating kids from their guardians or parents and creating chaotic Mexican border conditions are other examples of harsh solutions to address border activity threat. The legal solutions are one; addressing all the asylum applications to reduce the number of migrants that seeking asylum at various entry ports. As the migrants’ number grows, desperation increases, bringing about violent confrontations. Addressing the many asylum applications is, therefore, an excellent solution. Another legal solution is securing entry ports by focusing the U.S attention, its resources, and also technology in places where dangerous individuals try to get into the country. The other solution is investing in personnel and also technology. Superior technology like cameras, aerial and underneath sensors, and even fixed towers can assist in combating cartels that use more sophisticated technology to get over the border.

The legal solutions are more effective as they assist in curbing the insecurities in the various U.S borders without oppressing or intimidating anyone. Strict and cruel solutions do not work well since the people fleeing from violence can endure cruelty. Additionally, the individuals that flee from violence could most likely become desperate and make use of traffickers by paying higher prices. As a result, the desperate fleeing individuals provide additional resources which strengthen organized groups of criminal. Crimes therefore increase and become more intense due to the available resources.

Question 3

Constructing a wall between Mexico and the U.S is not an excellent idea. The wall is supposed to stretch over an immense desert’s expanse between entry ports. However, that would not be effective as a majority of security risks are at the entry ports instead of between. Also, the function of the wall is to establish a physical obstruction to keep individuals from crossing. However, the wall cannot accomplish the multiple operations that are needed to catch and arrest crossers. The wall can also not screen migrants, detect illegal behavior, etc.
