the wish of becoming a professional nurse within me
When I visited the hospital where my mother worked, I always came across people who were in pain. Especially people who had cancer desired lots of attention and care. These patients require close surveillance as they were insensitive situations. I had to help out my mother when I went to visit her friend in need. I met a professional nurse for the first time. Considering the gravity of the situation, my mother had hired a licensed nurse for her friend as it would be more professional aid. I was astonished by how the nurse came, took account of the situation, got across all the medicine from my mother, and took essential updates. Now she was under a professional nurse’s surveillance was making gradual progress. Professional and effective management was improving the lives of my mom’s friend.
That was the first incident that sparked the wish of becoming a professional nurse within me. Professional nurses are involved and focused in their purpose. Hence, I developed myself as an accountable and responsible individual. After I had prepared myself mentally for the profession, I dug further into the qualities which are needed to become a successful nurse. Further research brought out instances where nurses have to be compassionate, non-judgemental, realistic, open-minded, etc. Through the years, I have practiced and developed the qualities which will help me to practice these qualities in my career as a professional nurse. A strong foundation will help me; I trained myself seriously in related subjects, which will enhance my future as a nurse. The basic science of Biology was one of my favorite classes in my school days. Primarily I studied physiology, diseases outside studies, which further strengthened my knowledge base.
As I was preparing physically and mentally, I ventured into a nursing course after senior school. It was during May 2019; I graduated from Residential nurse. Currently, I am a Licensed Practical Nurse with 11 years of experience in the working field. My experience ranges from rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, handled patients with acute and chronic diseases. My perusal for more experience and knowledge has brought me to the course of Residential Nurse for which I am applying. I have prepared for this course for the last ten years and is on the toe to get myself enlisted. It will improve my dream of working as a professional nurse and enhance my skillset further.
Through the years, I have developed, trained, and prepared myself to be a nurse. I bring with me disciplined learning and acquired knowledge. This discipline helps me to approach my profession as well as the patients. Furthermore, I am natural, compassionate, accountable, and responsible. I feel these are the most active skills which a nurse possess in their career. My goal is to provide the best care possible to my patients, which will be improved by the RN residency course. I firmly believe and learned that becoming a professional nurse will test my theoretical as well as practical skills. It is one of the significant reasons why I started Nurse training and practice after school. To date, all I have focused on creating and developing talent rather than waiting for a lucrative opportunity. The responsibility, accountability, which the nursing profession demands have pushed me to hone my skills and abilities. Besides, I have been able to help the patients effectively through eleven years, and they have gone back with smiling faces. It is the greatest gift I received after all these years of work. It is the motto of my profession, to help the patients smile and ease their complexities with my services.
The aspects mentioned above are the reasons which are driving to undergo an RN residency course. I am confident about my skill and experience, which will help me to fulfill the requirement of the course. Furthermore, my abilities will add value to your organization as I can share my experience, which I gained through these eleven years. I always believe in learning and sharing. Hence, I am ready to share my experience as I learn from your esteemed organization. The scope of getting a chance in your esteemed institution is what I am seeking through this personal essay.
