Toiling hard and never losing hope, finally does make the universe fall on its knees. Lack of resources, opportunities are not hurdles, but stepping stones. I let my imagination have vast and splendid wings, and fuelled them with my hard work and dedication to soar high in the sky of achievements and accomplishments.
I, with a bagful of dreams and a top 1 percentile in B pharmacy entrance exam, was all set to shine. I overcame the financial hurdle by earning a need-based merit scholarship for all my graduation years. I ensured that my keen interest in carving a thorough performer and academician out of myself, never ceases, during my graduation years.
My professors always appreciated my sincerity towards my curriculum and my never-ending efforts. It coupled with the indwelling spirit of a winner in me, earned me Grade A in my graduation tenure. My research interests channeled through in a paper presentation competition at Vortex ICT (UDCT, Mumbai), where I bagged the first prize and a warm appreciation letter from my home institution. Two of my original articles, one on the Novel drug delivery system and the other on Nanotechnology, was acclaimed and published in internationally renowned journals. I worked as a team director and an active member of the Rotaract Club, Nashik, where we arranged polio vaccination, blood donation camps and also organized Indian cultural programs, all of which led me to hone my leadership, group tasking, and decision-making skills.
My fascination with pharmaceutical formulations took me to several industrial visits, where I gained first-hand knowledge about my topics of interest and even learned to apply them practically. I attended every seminar, guest lecture, alumni meet, and gathering that I could; The National Pharmacy Week debates being prominent amongst all of these, to channel and cultivate my passion for Nanotechnology and Novel drug delivery system. Also, my course as a part of the undergraduate study has assisted me in getting a firm footing in topics such as Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis and other topics related to pharmaceutical studies comprehensively, taught by highly qualified and competent faculty members. Moreover, it enhanced through practicals, frequent guest lectures, and interaction with industrialists.
I took up two internships, firstly, at a pharmaceutical company which helped me to learn preparation, coating of tablets, filling of capsules, HPLC, GC, UV-Spectrometry, preparation and evaluation of emulsions, suspensions, creams and pastes, dissolution and disintegration studies of tablets. My theoretical knowledge helped me to understand the complexity of the practical approach with ease. My second internship was at a Radiodiagnostic center as a clinical pharmacist, where I trained myself in the handling of instruments and preparation-sterilization methods of injectables, labeling, and storage of contrast media and also acquired communication and interpersonal relationship management skills.
The formulation of dosage forms has proven to be a vast area in research to surmount various difficulties in the development of new chemical entities, and this area has got tremendous research and development application in industry. It also has the potential to solve multiple queries in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and my fascination for this domain also enhanced with the internships and the paper publications I did
With a handful of experience and a cap loaded of accomplishments, I now wish to leap in my career by joining my dream institute for further studies. Pursuing MS is next in my to-do list, which would give me the launch I require to flourish and bloom, both as an academician and a researcher. It would also fuel my long term goal to bag a job at a significant research and development organization. I wish to grow in this field and, with my work, be useful and promising to the society and masses by spreading the knowledge and wisdom I acquire.
