Transport Sector in the Next 20 Years
In the last 20 years, travel was a bit different from what we currently have. For instance, for planning a trip, one had to physically visit agency offices to make payments and get reviews of the places he/she intended to visit. As of today, all these operations can be done on the internet using a mobile phone. In 2009, Uber was launched, a mobile application to aid in the booking of taxis (Uber Technologies Inc., 2020). Uber displays drivers information, rating and can track the progress of the taxi in question. This innovation has been marked as one of the greatest achievement in the transportation sector, solving the problem of taxi services.
There has been continuous improvement in the transportation sector in terms of technology and design over the years. Hence, I am optimistic that there will be significant improvements in the industry in the next 20 years. By way of illustration, Tesla is one of car technology that is vanguarding self-driving cars (Waldek, 2018). As years pass manufacturers will now focus on updating their software to improve efficiency and functionality that will see performance also improve significantly. Not only will the performance change but also design to give a better feel and beauty to the interiors of vehicles. I believe trains will also have adverse changes in the next two decades in terms of their technology as rates at which technology is transitioning is immense. Head of design at Hardt, says that in the past years the company has learnt people’s need and technology and they expect to have noticeable changes by 2039. He further explains that travelling will be so sleek that people will love to travel more and visit far places without noticing the short time used in travel (Waldek, 2018). In conclusion, the future of transportation is dazzling with new and great ideas.
