TYPES OF WATER DISPOSAL SYSTEMS.

They are ways used to take off wastewater from home or business, then treat it after that release it to the ground. Getting good knowledge about them is good so as to know how to choose to implement them. They include;

  1. Septic tanks

It is one of the common systems but offers limited treatment by settling solids and making fats and grease float.

The after product of the system isn’t suitable for irrigation and should be done to the land through a sand mound.

  1. Biological filter systems.

They use air to help microorganisms to break organic material present inside wastewater with less or no smell.

Water passes various stages to ensure total treatment, and the clarified one settles at the lowermost chamber to be pumped out of the tank.

  1. Aerated wastewater treatment systems.

It is more improved as water produced can be used for irrigation.

It has several compartments that ensure efficient treatment, after which the water is dumped out for surface or subsurface irrigation.

More advanced ones use membrane filters and UV disinfection and not chlorine, making the water good for irrigation than one from septic tanks.

  1. Evapotranspiration absorption beds.

They help in reducing reliance on water released by the loss to soil alone and maximizing the loss of water through evaporation and transpiration.

The released water is distributed across the bed through a system of slotted pipes. They can often be used with other systems like septic tanks, composting toilets, and biological filters.

  1. Compositing toilets.

They use microorganisms for decomposing human waste and other organic waste into humus. They are either dry or wet.

The dry one collects and disposes only blackwater into the primary standard—the greywater from bathrooms and washing as to be treated separately.

The wet one can be used together with flash toilets. They treat all wastewater from the house and does not require separate greywater management.

It is important to understand the water disposal systems so as to make a good decision for implementing them.
