Umm Kulthum Movie Review
Music indeed has a significant meaning that organized society in the Middle East by instituting biding affairs among communities. This formed a comparable identity that motivates people more than any other art. Therefore, Umm Kulthum’s career and her film provide remarkable connections between music philosophy and social organization in the Middle East communities (Lohman, n.p). Throughout her considerable talent, she brought mediocracy to the stories of other Middle Eastern women, where else her musical mastery helped to bring social development and togetherness in Arabs society in the new century. Also, she played a noteworthy influence on the notions of nationalism, whereby she became a political voice and an advocate for social and political issues from her charitable contributions to military efforts.
I liked her capability to tie musical creativeness to the connotation of the world in such a way that she constructed song meaning that was felt by listeners who gathered great gratitude. Besides, she was intact with her audience, such she could repeat lines several times until her audience was satisfied, which created an admiration for her performance (Pacholczyk, n.p). However, this reputation could have helped the rest of the world if she could have increased her production in other parts of the world like the Western region. This could have helped spread her talent and adopt her ideologies on social and political issues not only in the Middle East region but also in the rest of the world. In Fatma’s work on Umm, Kulthum and the role of Egyptian music added an explanation that created awareness of Arabic poetry and literature from the Qur’an based versus posturing certain degree of education with a referred appreciation of Arabic language (Shafik, n.p). In her unique way, Fatma established non-fiction work, which portrayed influential female figures in the country and other parts of the world hence motivating most of the female artists with similar goals.
