Undergraduate Uni Application Personal Statement
My interest in science dates back in high school where I excelled in maths, physics, biology and chemistry. After my higher level, I am pursuing courses in advanced higher maths, higher business management, higher economics and national five computing science since they were not available in high school. Maths concepts and logic underlie functionality of practically every process in our lives. Throughout my childhood travels, all living things have fascinated me since I have had the chance to encounter various natural wonders in different parts of the world. Nature has inspired my imagination, and the application diversity of maths has intrigued me; hence, I want to study them in-depth. The precision of maths and biology-related subject suits my nature. I like understanding complex information in detail and the pleasurable challenges of solving problems. I have enjoyed studying maths at a higher level, most notably S2 application of maths, algebra and logic.
I have been trying to prepare for pure maths and sciences problems to refine my skills to ensure that I am ready for my undergraduate learning. I have had the opportunity to assist in S2 applications of maths to explore more on the field. I am good at social sciences that have helped me in considering philosophical questions, utilising my analysis skills, questioning assumptions and thinking reflectively. When I begin my undergraduate career, I will have the opportunity to be exposed to maths and biology-related subjects to solidify and reinforce my intense interest in the sciences. During my learning experience, I had an opportunity to study various subjects in humanities which have been enlightening and enjoyable and have provided me with a different and new perspective on the world we live in.
I am enthusiastic, and I am grit, great at teamwork and committed to face stronger challenges and opposition during the course. My effective communication skills and team spirit has served me well since they help me demonstrate my self-reliance through planning and completing my tasks. I like being mentally and physically challenged and take pleasure in contrast with my academic life. I hope my capabilities and qualities will be useful in my academic life and my future career. Academic studies are demanding, so I intend to join the soccer team to keep me mentally well and physically fit and help me socialise and improve my abilities to contribute to teamwork.
I look forward to an intellectually challenging course offering my complementary subject to help me develop skills in logical and quantitative solving of problems along with the ability to articulate my ideas in the field. I have the motivation and confidence to enrol for undergraduate studies. Am looking to join a maths or biology-related degree course in a university that lectures and the administration focus on the importance of science courses and are dedicated to ensuring all students understand and succeed in their careers. I want to enrol in a program that has flexibility throughout various programmes so that I can choose modules that I will be interested in.
Am looking forward to being placed in an institution with a relaxed atmosphere that will assist me in feeling safe, making friends easily and adjust to living away from home. I want to pursue a course that will give me an excellent platform to launch my career, prepare me academically, professionally and socially. Upon admission, I will follow my academic objectives to gain fundamental knowledge of and pursue research contributing to knowledge advancement to improve lives and bring happiness to people
