Understanding Research in Sport
There is a correlation between faith and research as unraveled through a number of scholarly articles. Faith plays a critical role in influencing various levels of research, such as in the sport management career. The following analysis will assess the direction that God is taking me in the sport management career. The study will further involve an assessment of how we might incorporate some type of research into the job. The study will culminate with a personal opinion regarding the intersection of research and faith (Ressler, 2008).
Faith plays a critical role in spurring any sports management career. God is influencing my sport management career by directing my actions. For instance, Romans 12:2 has always acted as a blueprint in my career since it inspires me not to conform by the patterns of the world but to be transformed through the renewal of my mind. I am therefore compelled through the scriptures to remain ethical and to always compete ethically and fairly in my sports career. The incorporation of research into the integration of faith and sports is critical as it unravels critical aspects that augment our understanding of sports (Ressler, 2008).
My opinion regarding the intersection of faith and research is that faith plays a critical role in shaping the development of a sporting career. Ethics is an integral part of every sporting discipline, and it is through religion and faith that ethical principles are shaped. Faith is also critical in inspiring and motivating sportsmen and women to work towards improving their careers by combining their personal goals with scriptural motivation. For instance, the scriptures through the story of Jesus inspire sportsmen and women always to do good to other people and to become the best in their careers. Finally, faith provides hope in terms of turmoil, such as in cases of injuries and bad performance through the inspiration that there is a better tomorrow (Ressler, 2008). Faith, therefore, enables sports personalities not to lose hope or give up in their pursuit of success, which is a vital recipe for success.
