UNT Alumni Association Scholarship
I am a student, currently completed my high school education and wish to transform my other four years in an institution of higher learning. My educational plan and aspiration are to achieve a master degree in any health care science course that would assist me in pursuing a medical career in future. I aspire to help people mostly coming from marginalized areas. I realize if my vision has to come to be true, I have to complete my university education, and I cannot achieve my vision without having an opportunity to set my foot in a university.
Through my high school achievement in various filed and leadership roles played, I would like to express my interest to join the University of North Texas alumni association scholarship. This is to help me pursue my passion and vision in the life of helping other people improve their health status. I always feel happy helping other people in the community and trying to improve their quality of life. Therefore, attaining a university education and such a career will help improve the community health and the quality condition of many people. I wish most to concentrate on the health condition of people living in marginalized areas after completing my studies.
I have this vision of doing the best for my community since I was seven years old. The vision becomes more realistic to me through my high school years due to various activities and position occupied in school. It increases my desire to join an institution of higher learning to gain more understanding of the community. Looking back to my high school experience and everyone I interacted with, it was a great source of inspiration toward my dreams. My high school teacher polished my vision through teaching activities and encouragement. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
The community is the most significant source of my inspiration for seeing how many people struggle to get access to quality and affordable health care mostly those who come from the marginalized area. This led to my interest to contribute back to the underserved community in the United States that struggle every day to attain basic needs compared to other privileged groups. I wish to provide access to healthcare to the less privileged group in future. The main idea is to offer nutritional information on how less privileged can live a healthy life through a balanced diet with what they can afford, free medical consultation, and other programs that will improve the quality of their life.
My second biggest career goal that I would accomplish in my lifetime is to establish a non-profit making health care group or organization. The organization aim is to provide health care assistance to less privileged in the society and include free medical and nutrition consultation and services. It will provide health services in marginalized areas of the United States population to improve the quality of life of society. It will help contribute to the physical development of young children and minimize the causes of malnutrition in the less privileged community. As a way of giving back to society, the organization will provide scholarship to the less privileged student, internships services, and employment opportunities. It will allow the student to explore the world when coming from the marginalized area.
After I completed high school, I knew I had to remain more focused and determined to achieve my dreams. I was confident that if I wanted to achieve my career aspiration, I had to be persistent and dedicated to throughout my learning time, including joining higher education institution. Despite this achievement, I would not have reached this level, were it not for my parent’s support. They are a great pillar to my career aspiration thorough emotional, phycological, and economic support. Despite the lack of advanced career, they always provide quality life to us with little they can afford even if it not enough for all of us in the family. This is one of the primary reasons I search for a scholarship that could contribute to the achievement of university education and my dream career.
One thing I learned is to take a step toward achieving your goal no matter how those steps might be small. I think I do to cope up with my challenges of coming from low-income status is look for part-time employment opportunities to provide a source of income as I cater for some basic needs. I usually carry some part-time cleaning job in the evening and weekend that have helped me achieved great thing in life so far and supported our family in one way or another.
Another great achievement in my life is my leadership qualities gained through the various role players in the community and high school. First, I was programming manager most of our high school event that helped develop my time management skills. I could organize and plan various school event, welcome student for participation. It was driven by my passion for assisting others and seeing everything in order where no one is struggling.
Secondly, I engaged in several supportive clubs and invigorating clubs and association in school where I took various leadership position. I was the vice president of the science-based organisation, where I organized the multiple events to support and lead against anti-discrimination in the club due to the social status of the student. Lastly, I was the coordinator of the school-community association that united the member of the community, parents, teacher and school management in ensuring transparency and accountability to school. It taught me to more responsible, communication skills, dependability, and time management.
I am grateful to find a scholarship opportunity like this one that your foundation is providing to help student coming low-income class and are eligible to achieve their career aspiration. It is great foundations that aim to support people dreams in building a better community. I will always remain determined and persistence and keep pushing to achieve my career goals. I hope I will benefit from the scholarship to help fulfil my dreams.
