Useful Parts in Different Family Units
Prevention science provides different aspects of society. Having to deal with the continued improvement in the community. In this program am interested in exploring more on the children living with disabilities. The different programs that continually help in ensuring that the individuals are better-taken care. The group of such individuals is highly disadvantaged and would create a more significant impact on their lives in ensuring they have a better experience and interact continually with the rest of society.
The first job ad that I reviewed on indeed involved the HHS prevention science fellowship that consists of the department of disease prevention and health (Allen & Henderson, 2017). Having to provide the different health functionalities to the US people, the job ensures the continued improvement and empowerment of the youth and the younger generation in various departments. The functionalist theory impacts the family unit through the creation of better aspects and unifying the individuals in society. The interaction between the children in the community gives a better feel of humanity, and this would be the most critical aspect of the organization. The second ad indeed described the mental health counselor, which involved the direct care of children between the age of 10 and 22 years. Providing supervision, safety, and crisis management for the identified population and improving the livelihood of the children. Additionally, managing behavior among these children would help them in creating an impact in their lives. As a counselor, it would be a more significant aspect of relating to the different individuals in the group.
Theories
Functionalist theory: The theory describes the family unit as an independent body that continually takes shape and adapts better to the changes projected. It links the society with independence and creates a better approach as to individual perception.
Conflict theory: The theory explains its clear implication of society. Even though quite different from the functionalist theory, it tries to indicate the difference between the society setting (Reimers, 2016). Conflicts may only arise within a society if the available resources re not distributed to all within it. The government should ensure a successful distribution of the same for effective social interactions.
Social exchange theory: The theory describes the behavior between the different parties in society. Interacting with disabled children would create a better understanding as to how society views this group of individuals.
In the prevention science of disabled children, the most critical aspect is that it would relate to the conflict theory, where a balance between the groups in the society would improve continually. The culture affects many of these individuals and needs a better lookup to create more motivation for the group in a better manner.
