Using The Results Of Assessment

Having an Assessment and Evaluation of Learning Plan in the education sector is an essential thing as it allows individuals to evaluate themselves. Evaluation is necessary as it gives an overview of what one has been able to achieve and what he or she should improve to achieve more (Marzano, 2010). The purpose of the assessment plan is to gather valuable information about a student to determine if what is said to be achieved by educating them is accomplished and what should be improved. For the evaluation and assessment plan to work, it should integrate strategies that will enable it to achieve its goal.

The first component or strategy is goals and outcomes. The goals and outcome strategy enable the plan to have a specific direction and guides the program toward the critical sectors and prevents it from generalizing the assessment (Ervin, 1988). Having a direction results in more achievements as each part is given priority.

Secondly, it should include clearly stated methods that will be used in the evaluation process. The practices and procedures should be appropriate to help meet the intended objective of the assessment (Suskie, 2018). The method (s) used in the assessment should be aligned with the goals and outcomes of the evaluation plan to enhance efficiency. The methods should follow a criterion that will enable the evaluation to look at every learning goal and outcome in depth. The methods should improve and ease the means of how the data is interpreted for easy understanding.

Thirdly, is the evaluation of the information gathered, after conducting the assessment the information collected should be evaluated to come up with data that show if the primary purpose of the education given to students has achieved its objectives. This information will help improve the learning goals applied to the students, improve the teaching methods as it will propose improvements that will change how things are done, the information gathered will also enhance the stakeholders’ involvement which will pin effectiveness. The proposed revisions will enable the education offered to students to achieve their goals.

It is also essential to have an implementation schedule on the evaluation plan. The implementation schedule indicates a time frame that should be taken to implement the proposed changes and improvements. Through the schedule, all the upgrades are given priorities, and they are looked at one after the other. The schedule helps improve accountability in the process of implementing the proposed changes as it keeps a record of every activity. It also enhances the student’s learning outcome by making changes in the system.

Finally, an assessment and evaluation plan should have a section for reviewing the progress of the changes. The review of the development will help determine if the proposed changes are working and what more can be done (Ervin, 1988). The analysis can be done by examining the students to see if they have improved their knowledge and also get feedback from stakeholders on the improvements done and what effects they have had on the system. This will enhance the involvement of stakeholders, improve the teaching and learning process and propose improvements to the assessment process itself.

romEvaluation and assessment programs for education aim at improving the quality of education given to students so that they can become productive members of society. Evaluation and assessment are essential as it aims at discovering the loopholes in a system and propose improvements to make it better. It also helps improve the involvement of stakeholders. It comes as a result of their participation at every step of the process. The assessment process helps the students achieve more from the education they receive through improvements in the education system and teaching methods.
