WATER TECHNOLOGY
BWT (Best Water Technology) is a manufacturing company in Austria that makes water treatment systems for a wide range of fields; home, commercial and industrial; using various technologies; fuel cell membranes, decarbonization, ion exchange fibers, and many others. The company has a jug with a filter that is more economical compared to other bottled mineral water. In Germany, water is the number one beverage product. The company is trying to meet market demand by providing a quality and economical product.
The jug water filter uses magnesium technology. This technology does not filter out magnesium in water, thus improving the mineral content in the water and the taste of the water. The product actively competes bottled mineral water in the market. The table jug water filter is environmentally friendly, and only the filter is replaced. There is a business case to market the water filter enabling the consumer to know about their product.
There is much information required that is missing in their business case to develop the BWT jug water filter in my country. The type of water to be cleaned by the screen should be specified. Specifying the type of water would help the filter be very useful to the user. Not all areas have water of the same contamination level Water that is too contaminated with lots of particles might not get clean to the expected standard, and it may destroy the filter. A manual on how to use the screen should be provided. This manual would enable the target market to know the simplicity in using the filter and if it would be ideal for their daily use. A manual on how to use will increase the demand of the product if its use has no complications making it easy for them to access clean drinking water.
The business case should specify if the jug filter based on its magnesium technology is ideal for use by all people; adults, children, those with health conditions expectant mothers, and many others. These would enable people with health complications to consider if to use or not use the product based on information from the manufacturer. The life span of the filter and the ideal conditions for using the screen is also necessary. The lifespan of the filter will enable the buyer to consider if it’s worth purchasing the filter or not. Ideal storage conditions to use the screen will increase the life of the filter hence an advantage to the user. For example, the manual should specify the temperatures of the water to filter for the ideal effectiveness of the product. This missing information would affect the market of the product in this country.
As the BWT marketing director in my county, I would set various objectives to improve the product market. The first would be to ensure the product is readily available in all areas to satisfy customer demand. I would ensure no customer lacks the product due to shortages. Secondly, providing free maintenance and repair services in all product outlets. All issues with the product due to the manufacturer’s faults will get sorted at the expense of the manufacturer. Problems as a result of usage will also get sorted, ensuring excellent customer service standards.
Thirdly, design a product that is mobile and can be carried by the user everywhere enabling the user access clean water at any instance. The final objective would be visiting new markets and educating them on the benefits and use of the product. We would also run promotions, talks on importance of clean water and give subsidies to buyers. These objectives would improve the product market and hence the company’s revenue.
