Wellness paradigm is the incorporation, balance and oneness of the mind, body, spirit and emotions for an ideal being where each dimension is considered superior than a portion since they exist synonymously. Mental wellbeing
This is the positivity of the mind. The human mind is like a computer program, responsible for the way one thinks, makes decisions, executes actions and feels. When code is not maintained correctly, the whole program collapses. In the same way, the mind, if not properly maintained, is prone to being dysfunctional, which leads to a mental disorder. Emotional wellbeing
This is defined as the ability to scrutinize one’s emotions and feelings correctly. Human beings as the fascinating creatures they have a wide range of different feelings due to hormonal releases.
Physical wellbeing
The physical aspect of humans is the body. Hence physical wellbeing means that the body is adequately observed, listened to and taken care of to achieve optimal health. Various factors, when fulfilled, would conclude successful physical wellness: Proper nutrition, clean water, regular exercising, enough sleep.
Spiritual wellbeing
The spirit is an essential tenet within all creatures. For a spirit to achieve wellness, it needs: Meditation, gratitude and appreciation towards a divine being.
WELLNESS PARADIGM AS A SPIRITUALITY TOOL
Spiritual wellbeing in the wellness paradigm is the most vital as it complements all other fields. Spirituality is an aspect that links you to your entirety as a human being. It is the innermost of oneself. To achieve the realization of the person, one needs tools; in this case, our spiritual tools are all the dimensions in the wellness paradigm. The paradigm illustrated above is everything you need to discover the divine capabilities in you.
Words of affirmations towards the self or to others, affirmative prayers, forgiveness, journaling, creative work, mindfulness, meditation, the Sabbath, self-care,self-reflection, social action, visioning all are the tools towards achieving spiritual wealth contained in our wellness paradigm.
Mental wellness is achieved through: Being mindful of your breathing regularly; when under a lot of pressure, take a break and consciously observe your breath. Feel the movement of the air in and out of your body. Mindful breathing will go a long way to improve the flow of energy in your body, decrease anxiety levels and enhance the digestion process.
Positive affirming towards yourself and to others. Affirmations are mantras that you chant to yourself to improve how your mind perceives things. Positively affirming others enhances your humanity and acknowledges the fact you accept others as fellow human beings.
Nurturing a creative skill. The mind is like a computer program is always thirsty for new challenges. New expertise means a new challenge to solve a problem. Therefore, hobbies ensure that the mind is busy is fulfilling its purpose.
Emotional wellness, in the same way, is realized when one exercise and masters the art of listening to their emotions and feelings both in themselves and others and can keep them in check Things like self-confidence, forgiving, self-awareness, self-esteem are all results of emotional wellness.
Physical wellness is proper nutrition. Minding what you eat will significantly contribute to your physical health. For instance, one is required to take whole foods in place of the processed foods counterparts. A right amount of clean water always complements a proper meal throughout the day. Regular exercises. Approximately 30 minutes each day. After a good workout and a whole day of work, one needs to have a good rest. Adequate periods of sleep is not only beneficial to the mechanical part of a human being but also the mental part.
Spirituality is the backbone of the wellness paradigm. Through prayer and observing the Sabbath, one suggests the belief of a Supreme hence suggesting appreciation. Through meditation, a deep reflection and musing upon a particular issue and visioning the spirit is enriched, and self-realization is achieved.
CONCLUSION
A wellness paradigm is essential for not only spiritual growth as illustrated earlier but also is a means of watching your health. Mental, Physical and Emotional wellness from the definition alone deduces that they are fundamentals in achieving good health. Actions taken in pursuit of the wellness’ are a part of the whole process of becoming rich in body, spirit, mind, emotion and health-wise. These paradigms are not only helpful to my clients but also myself as I keep enlightening myself more as I teach. The ever-positive feedback I receive from clients after putting in practice these wellness practices is so satisfying that I am encouraged to reach further out.
