What does father mean to you personally

Father refers to a title given to a male parent or a title given to a Christian priest especially in Roman Catholics. Every person has a biological father regardless of whether he raises them or not. However, it is possible to call someone a father considering his roles in your life. Several names are used to refer to father including dad, papa, daddy, dada, and many more. Children being sensitive they require more attention while growing up to raise them as morally upright people. Therefore, the presence of a father in a child’s life is important mainly because fathers play different roles, which determines how the child’s future will be.

A father is a priest of his family. God has given fathers a unique role in the family of guiding their family spiritually. A father has a responsibility to make sure that his family lives according to commandments and will of God. As a priest, a father is expected to lead his family in prayers such as morning and evening prayers. A father also blesses the children as they go to school or their daily activities. A father engages his family in Bible studies where he shares the word of God with them, which leads to the growth of faith in a child. Father is also a protector because he protects his children physically from any danger or harm, morally, spiritually, financially, and emotionally. A father is responsible for guiding his children on morals to prevent them from engaging in the acts of immorality in society. A father should provide financial security by ensuring that he has enough finances to provide for his children. A father protects his children emotionally by making sure that they are raised in a good environment for their growth. A father is a provider because it is his responsibility to develop a means of earning a living to support his family materially. Both parents should join hands and teach their children how to live within their means. Therefore, the father has to practically show his children how to be financially responsible and independent.

A father is a teacher to his children. Children are entitled to learn something from their fathers whether in academic or in doing activities at home. A father adds more knowledge to his children about the world, and through him, children experience what life is and how it should be lived. A father is a companion to his children by providing enough time with them. Fathers paying attention to the important moments in children life such as birthdays, school performances, sports, parents-children school meetings, church activities for kids, school awards, graduation ceremonies, and many more develops a strong bond with his children. Even when the children are grown-ups a father is always there to support them. Father is also a procreator. God gave both husband and wife an important role to participate in children procreation, which makes the act of procreation sacred. Therefore, it is the parent’s responsibility to teach children that the act of procreation is a gift from God, which should be cherished, respected and protected. A father is the head and servant of the family. A father has to guide his family by demonstrating his roles and responsibilities to them. Though a father is the head of the family and the leader, he has to implement these roles in the spirit of servant and leadership. A father serves without expecting any payment in return and should be ready to admit his limitations and weakness humbly.

In conclusion, a father is a male parent who has significant roles in the growth and development of a child. A father serves as a priest in the family by focusing on the spiritual growth of their children, which is achieved by reading the Bible together and making them understand the word of God. A father acts as a protector to his kids by protecting them from physical harm and enhancing both financial and emotional security. A father is responsible for providing his children with basic needs and supports them materially. A father is a teacher, companion, procreator and the head of the family. Generally, a father is important in the life of a child. Father’s presence in the life of a child determines how the child’s future will be.
