Code monkey infers that an individual’s skill set is basic or could be easily replaced. It is categorized as a derogatory term for a developer or programmer.
What are the differences? Does it matter?
The difference between a script kiddie and code monkey is clear since script kiddies are unaware of their deeds and try to take whatever they must hack and result in havoc to others unaware. On the other hand, code monkey knows their acts on a fundamental level and create programs (Techopedia, 2020). I believe code monkeys matters a lot than script kiddies since they apply the necessary skills and little experience; they must add some financial value.
Does a kiddie make more money than a monkey? Programmer? Developer? Engineer?
Kiddies make no money at all since they lack the capability to code, while at the same time, code monkey uses basic skills and little experience to code, thus earning some amount (Comparably,2019). A programmer makes more than a code monkey since he/she has more skills, knowledge, and expertise in the programming domain. A programmer at the same time has extensive skills suitable for programming. A developer earns less than an engineer based on the skill differences. How are these terms used in a negative manner?
The two terms are used negatively to represent those people who carry out malicious practices in the programming domain. They are used in the depiction of ill-odd individuals.
Do they fit within a Christian worldview? Why/Why not?
The concepts do not fit within the Christian world view since Christianity is all about righteousness; malicious acts don’t rhyme with Bible teachings in any case. Christians should not thereby entertain such practices since it tends to taint the general spiritual uprightness.
Within the tech industry, how are these terms applied?
The application of the two terms in a Tech industry is used to draw a comparison in the programming industry. Therefore, an engineer is ranked at the top level hierarchically with script kiddies holding the lowest position based on the skills they are endowed.
Do you want to be a script kiddie or code monkey someday? Why/Why not?
Being a code monkey is far much better than being a script kiddie since at least a code monkey is aware of his deeds, but I wouldn’t like to be considered as one. It is because my aim of becoming an engineer someday is still valid.
