What is corporate culture? How is it formed? How is it sustained? Explain your answer
The corporate culture can be described as the norms, believes, stories, and the experiences which define the companies or the organizations. Corporate culture can also be defined in terms of the management-employee relationships, and how they perform the tasks, they are assigned. Culture is said to be formed over the long period through the business strategies which are constantly used within the organization. The culture may also be during the strategic management period when the business is starting. Those strategies may, in turn, become the culture when regularly used. The culture is sustained when it is helping the business meet its long term goals and the objectives. It is also sustained through healthy communication between the managers and employees. In this case, the managers should understand all the corporate cultural dimensions before they transmit it to the employees. The newcomers in the organization get aware of the culture through training.

Why do some managers have difficulties in delegating authority? Of these reasons, which do you think would be the most significant issue for you? Explain your answer
There are many reasons which make the managers have difficulties in delegating authority. First, they like controlling everything taking place within the organization and pride themselves for the capabilities. Second, they may want the job get done perfectly hence directly managing all the activities. Third, they may not trust those who they delegate powers to and then instead chose to directly involve themselves. Fourth, those who they delegate duties to may outperform them and with time take their management positions after the board of directors promotes them. Out of the four reasons, the one that I feel to be the most significant issue is the one that talks about the job being done perfectly. Under this point, the manager seems to be concerned with the general performance of the business, which is the main objective of the organization. I strongly go against the other reasons since they are focus on the individual gains but not the organization’s gains.

If you are a member of the quality improvement team, at your college, what would be five specification high impact recommendations that you would support? Explain your answer
Total quality management is a very important thing in any business firm or the organization. There are five most used tools in the total quality management, which include closeness to the customers, value-added analysis, the teams for quality improvement, the ISO series, and business process reengineering. The three tools help in ensuring that the products are of high quality and customer-centred. The most valued tool of the total quality management is the value-added analysis since it describes the products on the bases of the production and the benefits it brings to the people. If I were the member of the total quality improvement team in the college, I would use the above-said tools to ensure that all the products produced within the college are of high quality and meets all the market requirements. The total quality management tools help the products be competitive enough to the market. At the college, when the tools are used, the students will graduate with the relevant skills which would help them in real-life experiences.
