What Role did the Indians play in the wars for empire?

It is true that Indians played a significant role in helping France win the imperial war against British over the Ohio company lands. Indians and other natives assisted the French in ambushing the British soldiers to defend the colonies settlements (Calloway, 2020). The ambush resulted to British losing victory and most of their soldiers died.

Question 2; was reconciliation between the American colonies and Great Britain possible in 1774? Why or why not?

Reconciling the American colonies and Great Britain in 1774 was highly difficult. The British government experienced huge debt after the French and Indian war and to recover the debt, the government imposed high taxes on the colonies they had protected during the war (Geloso, 2018). The colonies disliked the taxes and reacted by boarding a British ship and destroying British tea worth a million dollars. Intolerable Acts were enacted and reconciliation became impossible.

Question 3; How did the Pennsylvania’s Quaker beginnings distinguish it from the other colonies in the British America?

The Pennsylvania’s Quaker indeed had many distinguishing factors from the other colonies. The social equality they upheld was motivated by their belief in religious freedom. The belief made the colony accept to interact with minorities freely unlike other colonies (Rabben, 2018). The free interaction with minorities gave the chance to meet native open minded citizens and allowed them to participate in political activities.

Question 4: what evidence indicates that Colonies continued to think of themselves as British subjects throughout this era? What evidence suggests that colonists were beginning to forge a separate, collective “America identity”? How would you explain this shift?

The colonies referring to George III as “Most Gracious Sovereign” and themselves as inhabitants indicates that they still saw themselves as subject of the British king and not as citizens of the British government (Corbett, 2017). Also, the colonies moving away from the British government and trying to create their de facto government shows that they wanted to forge a separate “American Identity”.
