HOW YOU PLAN TO GET THERE
My main goal is to complete campus education and leave with good grades that can assist me in achieving big dreams of becoming an HR environmentalist. Human Resource Management deals with the management of human beings, who are the most valuable resources of the organization. HR management is a personal manner of managing business and employment with a key goal being the management of human resources, which is the most important capital for any business enterprise. There are many positive things that I learned during the course that directly relate to human resource functions. These functions are directly connected to one another and play a critical role in influencing decisions made both within and outside the organization. Thus, when one thinks of HR, it mainly deals with investment in human capital, which is the most important resource at the disposal of any business enterprise.
Since Human Resource Management is broad, I am expected to dedicate myself to giving the best not only in HR but also in other fields that border HR such as marketing, accounting, and other disciplines that directly relates to HR. Human resource management is a changing discipline and encompasses a lot of challenging tasks that require a diverse workforce to meet the set organization goal (Alghamdi, & Bach, 2018). As an HR manager, I must also work hard to understand international labor laws because it is my department that will deal directly with handling labor issues. For minor cases, I will always be there to solve employee disputes or any other kind of dispute that may arise in the organization that pits two employees together. As an HR Manager, my main goal would be to work with the employees in meeting set deadlines and increasing productivity to the maximum required level. Throughout my studies, I have learned and understood that the success of the whole enterprise depends a lot on the kind of workforce that exist in the organization and their willingness to go the extra mile to produce the expected results. Therefore, as an HR Manager, I will highly value colleagues and use them to create value.
Human Resource Management best describes the responsibilities of a human resource that fall into three major categories, which include staffing, employee compensation and benefits, and work design. As HR Manager, I will work closely with other departments to ensure the welfare of workers is well-taken care off as the success of the whole organization depend on the kind of workers the firm has and their willingness to work hard towards the achievement of the set organizational goal (Alghamdi, & Bach, 2018). With the new changes that have taken place across the world, I have learned that my job requires a diversity of the workforce. As a request, I have tried to accommodate people of diverse races and believe going forward, understanding one another will be critical in working together with people of different ethnic backgrounds. As the HR manager, I will try to solve some of the outstanding issues that have never been solved for many years, such as two-third gender rule at the workplace. At the workplace, there is the gender imbalance that has resulted in employees of the same gender dominating the taskforce while the new requirement on equality and gender balance demands that one gender should not dominate one workforce.
During the coursework, I realized presenting in groups is important, but also one of the most challenging tasks that one may wish to take. Although group work brings different people together, there are a lot of challenges associated with teamwork. However, group work is also important for several reasons, as different minds are brought together (Kerns, 2019). When people come together, different personalities with varied opinions are brought together that luckily can help improve productivity. In order to accomplish the set organization goals, people are expected to work together towards one specific direction to achieve a set organization goal. I believe, as a group, there are many things that members can learn or gain from one another. In groups, individuals connect together to work on the most difficult and challenging task and bring the best out of the human resources at their disposal. Additionally, it is possible to operate effectively amongst each other to meet the set deadline. For instance, while working in a group, there was a time when the members of the time were under great pressure to meet the set deadline, but that did not affect their work rate because they assisted one another to control an angry outburst that often arises when there is lack of proper coordination of human resources in the organization. In group work, each member has a role to play, and such contribution is highly recommended, especially when the organization is committed to achieving the set organization goal as a group and not as an individual as that may be the case in circumstances that promote individualism. Furthermore, the presentation within the group led to a lot of sharing amongst all the members, and those who are shy got the opportunity to share with the group members, and their views were highly appreciated. Through group work, we formed a group chat where we involved each other in the discussion of various things that primarily dealt with the education and learning process.
As a group, we formed a group chat, where we participated with one another and sent updates on crucial issues that deserve a conversation. As such were the class presentation that was discussed with one another on numerous occasion to ensure all the individuals are kept updated on everything that is taking place within the team and affect their performance. In the group, we work together to meet deadlines and brainstorm together as one way of managing even the most difficult and challenging task, and this helped us particularly when we were doing our presentation on soft drinks.
Since HR is a wide area, it is integral to be well conversant with different changes that take place across the world and affect HR management, such as the changing workforce that require a different management style as compared to the rest of the organization. It is also integral for professionals within this field to understand other related topics such as employee training and development and the need to administer various programs to employees because the employees feel motivated when they are given compensation packages that field the organization’s goal. As an HR Manager, I will also try to address emerging employee concerns such as the increasing demand to compensate employees accordingly or hire the right people that match the current job market.
Other issues of concern are the changing face of HR brought about by rapid organizational changes that are shaping the world and influence a lot of things that influence the modern taskforce. This area is particular of great concern because human beings are the most important human capital of the firm. AS an HR Manager, I will also consider working hard to nurture new talents (Brock, McAliney, Ma, & Sen, 2017). The main idea is to develop a comprehensive approach to managing people. Today’s human resource management also encompasses administrative role, which means I must also strive hard to manage costs and expenses because they contribute to a reduction in profitability that the firm makes. Adding value to already existing taskforce remains one of the most important goals of any firm, and this explains the reason why I will highly advocate for the acquisition of talented because it provides the firm with arrays of ideas on what to do to achieve the set objectives.
As I work towards the achievement of the set career goal, I wish to perform well in other areas such as marketing and sales that I did during my internship. At the internship, there is a lot of experience that I got, especially in dealing with a diverse workforce, which is the most important resource that each organization can have at their disposal. Since the modern world is changing at a faster rate, I also expect to learn to meet the expectations of the changing environment so that I am not left behind within the changes taking place in the labor market. Being well conversant with the changes taking place in the global market and affect human resources is equally important in understanding the trends of the current labor market, such as the emerging young taskforce who are hard to the employee (Munir et al., 2017). The millennial contribute the largest percentage of the current workforce, but they pose a lot of problems to the current workforce that requires understanding them and their behavior so as not to be in continuous problem with them with it comes to the employment process.
Apart from focusing solely on HR management, I am committed to being an all-round individual hence the need to focus on other areas which are integral for future wellbeing such as my communication skill. Constant communication and instant updates are highly valued when working with a diverse team. Therefore, these are some of the key areas where I intend to work on to become an important individual not only to my organization but also the rest of society. The positive thing of working together is that one gets the opportunity to work together, understand one another, and identify areas of weakness and correct them where possible.
In conclusion, HR management offers a wide array of functions that are likely to benefit me and assist me in achieving the expected organizational goals. Although there are many challenges associated with achieving the set organizational goals, I am positive and hope to work hard towards achieving the set goals without giving up because I want to work with people and bring the best out of human beings who are the most important asset of any organization. As I conclude, I believe the kind of knowledge that I will get will assist me in achieving the set goal of becoming an HR Manager.
