Laussel – Female figure
It was carved in France by Laussel, and it is one of the earliest known sculptures. IT was sculpted using a stone using a chisel from a flat stone surface from a large rock, and from it, an image was created that can be seen from the stone’s background as it projects. The Laussel relief was carried to the museum, and up to date, it can be seen, it had to be separated from its original home.
Context
The curved pictures were carved in nude form since, in ice history, people believed that men and women had no clothes to wear what they wore were garments. During their discovery, the archaeologists named these statuettes women Venus, a name got from Greco-Roman who was a goddess of love as well as beauty and the artist later on depicted nude.
