Women in the Dune is a film
The film is about entomologists Niki Jumpei. He was portrayed by Eiji Okanda who had missed the bus as he collects bags within the dunes. Eiji Okanda was persuaded by villagers to spend his night at one house which was at the bottom of the sandpit. In the house there lived a widow.
The film portrays several themes which include; sexuality, power, hope and alienation. The symbols utilized in the films are; water trap, radio, the mirror, sand and the rock. The theme of alienation is exhibited by the isolation of Niki who spent a life of separation from the outside world. In the context of the film, the sand is symbolic of time. Time has been illustrated using ripples of sand movements by the shovel. The theme of sexuality is evident in the movie. It has been utilized throughout the film. Radio is symbolic of the outer world. This is evident when Niki says he thought of sending the woman a radio.
The woman in the Dune is a narrative film in the sense that it gives a story of character Niki and the widow who was living alone in the house. The whole plotting of the film reveals an organized representation of a story to the audience. The concept of the mise-en-scene in the woman in the Dune is portrayed with the use of mirrors, planes of glasses and cantented flames on the stage lighting as well as wipes which all combined to destabilize the audience through the whole film. The composition of artist work in the movie is well organized, and cinematography as pictures utilized looks quite lovely. The tone used in the movie has unappealing harshness as well as simplicity which odd in consideration of the subtle concepts it wants to convey.
The film begins with a shot of slowly moving stones, and in the process, they grew to be even smaller. The nature of editing and sounds tracks used are composed in a great and unique way in the film Women in the Dunes. The film style uses the sense of an imaginary world to develop the plot.
