Worse Than War documentary summary Pbs

Based on the Worse Than War documentary summary Pbs, the summary focuses on nine countries across the world, including Rwanda, Guatemala, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Ukraine, among others. The review also focuses on the victims, perpetrators, politicians, historians, diplomats, witness, humanitarians, and journalists, who understands and explains the critical features of genocide and how to stop the act of genocide. According to the perception of Daniel Goldhagen in the documentary, the literature of mass killing is riddled with clichés. Daniel argues further that mass killing is not attached to impersonality or beyond the control of a human. Therefore, it is not based on the expression of human nature.

People do not usually slaughter others out of blind tractability to authority. Besides, ordinary individuals got convinced to butcher their neighbors due to political influence. According to history, elimination was based on integral politics; thus, mass killing considered a political act. Mass elimination is usually preventable and usually occurs as a result of conscious political choice. Even though mass killing is regarded as a political act, far from happening in frenzy bloodlust, the atrocities usually result from orders and meetings and as well as the decisions from a handful of influential people. According to my understanding, there is no mass killing that may not be avoided should few people make their decision not to involve in mass killing.

The most striking accounts of genocide based on the documentary are the absence of perplexity among the perpetrators when the murdering starts. Politicians usually mobilize others into murdering through latent tapping into prejudice and simmering hatred. Worse than war documentary seems to be repetitive based on the overwhelming nature of the problem, thus making bit to be inevitable that solutions of Goldhagen considered inadequate.  Besides, the convention of genocide and the United Nations provides cover for mass killers than stopping them. Mass killers usually have a sense of impunity from international intervention. Goldhagen complains that mass killers should know the consequences of killing, such as imprisonment or execution; thus, they should be prosecuted accordingly to serve as an example.

Consequently, the creation of democratic alternatives to the United Nations appears to be exceptional in principle, but very hard in envisaging how it will come into being. Therefore, even if the United Democratic Nations forced a complete economic embargo on the elimination of governments, countries that are not within the UDN may happily continue trading. According to my understanding, Goldhagen has one crucial blind spot. Indeed, based on his broad knowledge, Israel is the elimination target. Therefore, Goldhagen resolves in pushing eliminationism to the centre stage that should be applauded. Worse Than War seems to be robust and affects studies of man’s inhumanity to man. Therefore, the central message of the documentary focuses on human power in preventing and stopping genocide, provided that people accept the aggressive intervention need in punishing killers regimes and halting the bloodshed.
