Zcm-Case Study 1, Week
Early addiction to alcohol is the source of all the problems that Elizabeth is currently going through in her life. She started drinking at a tender age and slowly, she became an addict of narcotic, and she could not go a day without being high. As it is currently, the rehabilitation exercise required to assist Elizabeth to recover from her drinking habit will require both medical treatment and spiritual treatment such as giving words of encouragements because medical treatment alone cannot help heal Elizabeth and liberate her from the living style she had adopted.
At the rehabilitation centre, there are rehabilitation exercises that Elizabeth can perform on a daily basis to help her recover from the condition. For instance, daily physical activity in the morning and evening can help her forget about her past and focus on the future. Studies indicate that physical exercise can help relieve an individual or help them overcome life stress and focus only on what is important and matter to their lives. For the addicts such as Elizabeth, routine exercise followed by attending to a counsellor can help reclaim her life to the right track. While working with a physical therapist, Elizabeth will get the opportunity to share with a physiotherapist about the challenges she faces during the rehabilitation exercise. The path to recovery is always the most difficult path for the most addict. However, with the support of both family members and medics, Elizabeth’s path to full recovery can go well with little challenges because at the rehabilitation center, her movement is restricted and backsliding to drugs may be difficult as compared to when she was left at home.
