Traditional wedding in Latin America

I have chosen a traditional wedding as a part of cultural interaction, which is characterized by a beautiful and fascinating ceremony encompassing several unique customs and traditions. In Latin America, over two-thirds of the population usually identifies themselves with the catholic denomination. As a result, finding several traditional weddings takings place in catholic churches is not a surprise. The traditional wedding is one of the few ceremonies that I have witnessed in Latin America. In this ceremony, presented las arras to the bride. Las arras is a set of thirteen gold coins. These thirteen gold coins were representing the commitment of the groom to support the bride. As a result, the priest was blessing these coins, and severally, the couple exchanges them. Unlike the traditional ceremony, the couples in the modern traditions choose to split the coins between the groom and bride. This is a clear indication that rings are a significant part of the Latin American wedding ceremony. Since this was a traditional ceremony, it diversely spoke about the culture of the Latin Americans. For instance, the exchange of the thirteen coins was a cultural event that signified the full support of the couples. In another case, the ceremony spoke about the culture after the bride, and the groom often gets other’s names, which were engraved into the exchanges rings. Also, the gold band replaced by the silver ring. In this traditional wedding ceremony, everybody was expressing their joy and happiness through consistent singing and dancing of the traditional songs. I was also happy to enjoy the way everybody was responding to the wedding in a traditional setting. From the event, I acknowledged that the exchange of thirteen coins was a significant cultural practice in American Latin weddings. Also, rings were vital elements, as well.
