Each day, in majority of the countries in a different part of the world, women are confronted by inequality and discrimination. Women face abuse, violence, and unequal treatment at various places, such as at work, home, and from the community at large. In most cases, women are denied opportunities to earn, lead, and even learn. Such kind of behavior is an account of feminist political activism that has been taken at an international level. Feminism range from the political movements, ideologies, and social movements that shares a specific goal of establishing, defining, and achieving economic, political, social, and personal qualities of the sexes. For a long time, it has been clear that feminism takes the position of the societies that mostly prioritize the male perspectives while women are mistreated. Various efforts have been put in place as an attempt to end the feminist movement and create equal chances for both men and women. Some of these efforts are establishing professional and educational opportunities as well as fighting the stereotypes to create equal chances as those for men. Feminist movements have, for a quite long, been campaigning for women women’s rights for women to be granted rights to hold public offices, have some freedom to vote to earn fair wages, right to own property, equal pay, and elimination of gender pay gap among many others. Feminism has also worked to protect women and girls from sexual harassment, domestic violence, and rape.

The first aspect to look at in examining the contributions made by feminist thought on foreign affairs ethics is the impacts it has had on international politics and policies. This can be discussed on the basis of selective accounts of feminist political activism internationally. This relates to issues concerned with war and peace at different situations, levels as well as regions in the world. Feminism has made women visible in sectors where they were not recognized before. Through feminism, both international policies and politics have spaces for women, and the voices of women are evidently recognized and respected. Fortunately, there has been light at the end of the tunnel, and the light seems to be increasing as time progresses. What this simply means is that women are now much respected, recognized, and acknowledged, a scenario that could not be witnessed decades of years back. All this progress can be attributed to feminism and efforts made by various feminists around the globe. A comparison between traditional and modern IR points reveals that some women currently hold better positions as far as leadership is concerned. This is also an impact of efforts done by many feminists to unleash the problems of the female gender as well as availing the possible ways to deal with these discrimination forms. This at large has dramatically impacted the management of international policies and politics since women’s voices are being listened to, and their ideas are given a priority. This can be proved by the fact that women have been involved in international relations case not as victims but as the ones responsible for making decisions.

Feminism has also addressed the issue of lack of women involvement in making decisions, which has, in turn, produced positive results by ensuring that they are given this opportunity. An excellent example of this can be traced in an article in E-International Relations where the author says, “…in 2015 the World Bank estimated that globally women made up just 22.9% of national parliaments” (Smith). This is because of the traditional focus that men are the ones capable of handling leadership roles including dominating power, being heads of state institutions as well as having decision-making abilities. Current focus through feminists has, however, proved this wrong by showing the capable skills of women in diverse sections, decision making included. Their work to show that gendered based thinking of ideas is not helpful; thus, a combination of both genders in any aspect yields better results than when one-sided. Currently, women have been involved in decision-making strategies and are performing better than it was expected of them.

In conclusion, justice for female gender is not an initiative that has been launched today or yesterday. It has seen tremendous growth, which is as a result of efforts by feminists and the role of feminism in general. This does not mean that the case of women’s women’s discrimination and prejudice has totally stopped. Even now, women face abuse, violence, and unequal treatment at different places such as at work, home, and from the community at large. What has really happened is that these forms of mistreatments have reduced remarkably, and females have a more significant portion of justice compared to traditional days.
