Organizational development
Organizational development focuses on the effective management of scarce resources within the organization to aid in achieving efficiency and higher productivity. Organization development also focuses on changes that are applied to human behavior and organizational culture and the benefits that accrue to the organization after embracing organizational development interventions (Becker, 2013). The knowledge acquired from this course will be essential since it will impact my personality and my future job career in the following ways; the knowledge acquired will assist me in ensuring effective management of changes within the organization. This is because I will adopt the best approaches toward changes implementation, thus preventing the challenge of resistance to change. This will contributes towards the improvement of organization output in the competitive environment. Hence this will contributes towards my career growth in the job market.
The knowledge also will be essential since it will assist me in the formulation of strategies for counteracting with the environmental changes in the markets. It is thus enabling the organization to survive the stiff competition in the dynamic environment and enable the organization to benefit from economies of scales that arise due to efficient productions. The knowledge acquired hence will assist me in evaluating the available opportunities as well as the threats the business environment poses to the organizations. Hence this will assist me in devising the best generic and growth strategies for the organization. The generic strategies will comprise product differentiation, cost leadership, among others, while growth strategies, they will include diversifications and market development environment. These strategies will be essential in enabling the company to implement the necessary changes to remain in business as a going concern. The skills gained from the course include analytical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills (Lau & Lee, 2019). The analytical skills will be substantial since they assist me in effective evaluation of the business problems and thus contributing to effective decision making for the organizations. The key decision will include strategic decisions and tactical decisions. This will be essential to the organization since it will contribute towards the increasing of the organization’s profit margins and liquidity positions of the company’s. Liquidity position usually determines the organization’s ability to honor its obligation when they fall dues. This determines whether the organization will continue with its operations as a going concern in the marketplace (Lau & Lee, 2019). The top-level management should ensure effective management of organizational development practices to contribute towards gaining of competitive edge by the organization. This will contributes to optimal productions within the organization and aid in the effective implementation of changes emanating from the external environment.
