Additionally, Keynesian economists acted with caution during the time of passing legislation and expenditure. The Americans supported tax breaks for the wealthy members of the society since they observed that such action would have led to employment opportunities in the country.

The rise of apartheid in South America led to racial discrimination and isolation for the white groups. The US was the single major supplier of war weapons, such as guns for South Africa. When the public established the business relationship between the US and SA, the former had to make changes to its international policy. Thus, the Civil War in South Africa focused on creating civil rights for the citizens. In a political sense, the action took by the US to make changes was unfortunate because it influenced the country to create change.

The Iran-Contra scandal was an occurrence that involved the US and Iran. The deal became apparent that the US traded guns with Iran at the time of Ronald Reagan’s presidency. The trade relationship between the US and Iran was to ensure that the American citizens held as prisoners of war released in Lebanon. The weapons the US supplied Iran were then passed to Contra, rebels that were fighting against the Nicaragua administration.
