The instability witnessed in Europe after World War I opened room for another war; Second world war that proved to be more disastrous. Second World War conflict involved almost all parts of the world. The battle lasted between 1939 to 1945. The war proved to be the deadliest ever witnessed by claiming around 60-80 million lives. The war was between two powerful groups, the Axis power conflicting with the USA and the Soviet Union. The Axis power comprised Japan, Germany, and Italy and their allies France and Great Britain. The Soviet Union, on the other hand, composed of USRR and Other countries. The Soviet Union joined the USA and the same small parts of China to match against the Axis powers. This paper discusses the second world war and explains why it was Darker than the First. The work explores some of the devastating events during the war, such as Dropping the atomic bombs and seeks to find out the reasons it happened.

Adolf Hitler significantly contributed to the start of World War II. He started rearming his groups with the desire to dominate more parts of the world and acquire more territories. He began to prepare his national socialist group, the Nazi party. The act of forming war groups and signing strategic treaties with nations such as France and Great Britain raised tension all over the world. Hitler showed his desire to acquire more territories openly. America and the Soviet Union had to come in to limit Hitler’s power. However, the events that took place after the intervention proved to be more disastrous.

World War II started seriously in japan in 1944 and 1945. Fighting took place in the pacific; major battles were fought in; Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and Leyte. In 1945 most of the prisoners in Japan territories had been set free by the Allied powers. Active campaigns of bombing Japan started when the Allied forces began crossing the Japanese borders. They were suggesting that major cities of Japan, such as Tokyo, should be Bombed. In early August 1945, the USA dropped two atomic bombs hitting the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The effects were so devastating to the extent that Japan surrendered with immediate effect. The Hiroshima bombing killed around 80,000 people and cleared about 90% of what was in the city. The Nagasaki bombing, on the other hand, killed approximately 40 000 people.

The post effects of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing were so devastating. No other war in history had witnessed the use of such powerful technology. The side effects of the explosion were so terrific; everything was burned into ashes, including; animals and plants. The heat and pressure resulting from the bomb were so terrible, Japan lost lots of lives and property. The damage did not end immediately; many people suffered later from the radiation emitted from the bombs. Radiation sickness, mutations, and cancer resulted in deaths of more people.  Japan was Bombed because it was considered a fierce enemy to the Soviet Union and the USA. Japan was adamant about giving up on the war and had decided to fight until the very end. The Japanese could use deadliest techniques such as; kamikaze attacks; they claimed lots of USA soldiers’ lives. Japan was proving to be a more severe threat, the USA used the bombing strategy to minimize the nation’s power.

In a nutshell, the world war II had more devastating effects compared to other wars witnessed. The second world war produced the most significant number of victims seen in war history. The victims of the war were estimated to be around 60-80 million. The war also led to massive destruction of property and the ecosystem. The bombing of Japan was the most severe event witnessed during the war. The USA bombed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing around 80,000 and 40,000 people in the respective cities. Using atomic bombs resulted in huge health problems in Japan. People started getting infected with mutation related diseases, cancer, and radiation sicknesses. The effects resulting from the bombing are experiences up to the moment. It is believed that the USA bombed Japan because it was believed to be a threat to USA security. Japan was also adamant about surrendering, a strategy had to be employed to make them respond. The side effects of world war II were so devastating and are felt up to the moment.
