Introduction

Organizational behaviour is the study of how human interface between human behaviour and the organizational setup. Organizational behaviour is a broad study that has been influenced by developments in a number of disciplines; which includes sociology, psychology, economics, and engineering, as well as the experience of the practitioner (Delich, 2015).

The organization behaviour is a study of great importance; since the behaviour of the people in the organization greatly affects the organization itself. There are several challenges facing the study directly and indirectly, too; the study does not give a complete solution of an issue but gives the means in which the issues can be reduced or minimized to a  manageable level. This cuts across improving peoples skills, the quality and productivity of the team, coping with the temporaries, managing workforce diversity and stimulating innovation and change (Williams, 2013).

Organizational behaviour cannot substitute for poor planning, inept organization of inadequate controls. This is just one of the systems operating below other major systems within a larger social system. Behaviour bias, the law of diminishing returns, and unethical manipulation of people are some of the factors that affect organizational behaviour.

Workplace emotions, attitudes, and stress can be a hindrance to the organizational behaviour of an organization. Factors such as creativity and decision making are of great importance. Team dynamics is a great factor towards high productivity and focus on the objective of a team in the organization  (Williams, 2013).

In this case study, there are the major facts than need to closely looked into to ensure improvement in the organizational behaviour. 1) foundation of employees motivation 2) decision making and creativity 3) team dynamics 4) organization culture.

            Major problems

The major problem that greatly affects organizational behaviour are 1) poor foundations of employees motivation 2) poor approach towards improving team dynamics 3) poor decision-making procedures and approaches among the management 4) organization culture that does not promote personal development.

Possible Solutions/Alternatives

            The possible solution of handling the problems that are encountered in organizational behaviour and creativity are the following;

Solution 1: Checking on the foundations of employees motivation

Employee motivation is a great factor in organizational behaviour. This can be improved through the active engagement of the employees. Members of the organization who are not actively engaged tend to be disruptive at work and less focused on their roles (Warner, 2009). The needs of the employees need to be looked upon closely; in an organization where needs are properly looked into and handled tend to make better decisions, and behaviour improvement is experienced.

Since motivation is something from within a person, there is much need for an organization to concentrate on improving the motivation of its employees. It improves the sense of belonging, which is a vital factor in improving organizational behaviour and creativity.

Solution 2:  Improving the team dynamics within an organization

Team dynamics are the unconscious psychological forces that drive an individual towards doing better than before; this leads to better performance of a group; there are different factors that can be put in place to improve the team dynamics, which in turn contribute to the organizational behaviour in an organization. In case of a problem tackling it immediately and with good feedback is of great importance. During the barriers that are found in every group needs to be broken down (Delich, 2015). As a team leader paying attention to the issues in the group is a great factor in improving the team dynamics. Roles and responsibilities of each group member need to be clearly described in accordance with their abilities and likes (Delich, 2015).

Solution 3. Improving the decision making process and creativity

Decision making refers to the choice among alternative courses of action, which may also include inaction. In many organization setups, almost half of the decisions made by managers fail; it is of great importance to improve the act of decision making and to avoid decision making pitfalls.

In a team that is tasked with the responsibility of developing new devices and equipment for the organization, creativity is a key factor that needs to prioritize. For the team members to be creative,  they deserve an environment that promotes creativity. The group member’s likes and dislikes are clearly analyzed, and they are allowed to work in their comfort environment (Warner, 2009).

Solution 4: Creating measures of controlling working emotions and stress

Emotion is defined as a complex feeling state that is normally accompanied by psychological arousal and overt behaviours. Emotions and stress in an organization need to be handled as quickly as possible since it can cause lots of damage to the organizational behaviours.  Stress-related disorders come across various conditions, which include psychological disorders; such as depression anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders. Pressure from the work and outside work can cause great discomfort to the employees hence causing organizational behaviour change.

Choice and Rationale

The solutions discussed above are all of great importance to the organization when applied in promoting good organizational behaviour, all the above and many others need to be closely looked into to ensure behaviours that promote creativity.

Implementation/The Action Plan

Giving employees a chance to be heard greatly improves their confidence and positively increase their behaviour. Proper communications in all levels should be encouraged for the maintenance and improvement of the organizational behaviour. Encouraging teamwork among group members greatly encourages learning between the group members, and there is an improvement in behaviour through knowledge sharing available in the team.
