Operations and Objectives of Black Jack

There are three main objectives of the BlackJack game. The game is played with one or more decks of cards, and each deck must have 52 cards. One of the objectives is that one must get 21 points out of the first two cards which are referred to as the blackjack without the dealers blackjack (Casino News, 2019).

The second objective is that the player must, in the end, have a score that is higher compared to that of the dealer. However, this score should not be more than 21 (Casino News, 2019).

Last objective is allowing the dealer to has a chance to draw additional cards. The rule is that they should exceed 21 in the process (Casino News, 2019).

Strip Rules and Player Advantage

One of the rules is that the game is played with 4-8 decks of cards. The dealer has the advantage of receiving one card that is facing up, which is visible to all the other players and another card facing down, which the dealer can peek at in some variations of the rule. If the first card is either an Ace or a card with a value of 10, the dealer has the chance of collecting a natural blackjack and eventually winning the game (Blackjack Expert, n.d).

Another rule that is advantageous to the players and not the dealer is that they all are provided with two cards on the face-up and therefore know their value. Once the value of these cards, they can take two alternatives. One is that they can make a hit by taking another card, meaning that they have doubled their bet and subsequently finish the game (Blackjack Expert, n.d). Surrendering and splitting are other additional options that the player can go for and these are referred to as the fixed rules.

Surrender as a rule is applicable in the case when a player sees the possibility of them losing. Under this rule, the player can opt to accept that they have lost even before the end of the round instead of waiting for the end of the round. The advantage of this rule to the player is that it makes them lose half of what they would have lost in case they waited for the game to end (Blackjack Expert, n.d). The surrendering may come early or late, depending on the rules set by the casino setting. There is also the rule of players doubling down any two cards on them. This increases the probability of the players to win.
