Political Compass Results
Based on the political compass test, the scores are -2.63 on the economic score while it stands at -4.62 concerning the social dimension that shapes up one’s political affiliation. In the above results, it is evident that in the political aspect, I am inclined to the left-wing of the political sphere. To a great extent, my economic scale lies under the left-wing. Such affiliation translates to having people involved in governance through social activism and other issues that affect the collective participation of individuals in matters related to governance. Again, the scores on the social dimension scale indicate that my opinions revolve around the supreme value of individuals. In this regard, an individual and their opinion reign over the state-imposed control. The perception is akin to the views that was held by Mahatma Gandhi.
Generally, based on the political compass results, I am affiliated with the liberal left. Being a liberal left, my opinions and supposed policies would entail a hands-off approach on issues that affects the people as well as having regulations in place to curb fraudulent business activities among corporations. Again, the policies will give prominence to social security issues affecting the population and the masses instead of charitable gifts that are short term interventions and unsustainable. Thus, I believe the test results magnify my political stand and affiliation as, in most cases, I associate myself with the liberal lefts in any political discussion.
The entire course has been beneficial to me in various ways. Regarding my daily life, the course has made me understand the operations of different governments and the economic policies that anchor them. Such an aspect has broadened my understanding of the development in different countries and altogether given me a distinct worldview of the dynamics of governance. In my future career, the course has bequeathed me with requisite knowledge on governance and policy marking, the core importance of political science studies (Finlayson, 2004). Therefore, I believe the course has played an essential role in preparing me for future career development and personal well-being through its insightful and informative tenets that outlines different governance systems as well as policymaking.
