Qualitative Nursing Study

In the study of patients with heart failure, qualitative research is needed to help understand the experiences of nurses when handling patients with heart problems. Recently, I reviewed a qualitative study on issues in the management of individuals with heart failure. In the study, an interview was used to examine the problems clinicians faced in handling patients with heart failure. Results from the qualitative study indicated that communication problem is an issue in modern health centers and affects the care given to heart failure patients. Ineffective communication results from a lack of patients to create long term relationships with their nurses (Glogowska et al., 2015). Another problem identified was a lack of a multidisciplinary approach in handling patients in a healthcare center. Ineffective multidisciplinary input will affect the treatment process because results of diagnosis will not be explained adequately to ensure medications given cater to the health problems of the patients.

A similar study, when conducted by a modern researcher, will indicate that ineffective communication is a challenge in managing chronic conditions like heart failure. The new researcher will identify that a lack of a multidisciplinary approach in treating patients with chronic problems results in errors in treatments given. Therefore, the study confirms that a health physician has a role in communicating effectively. Also, nurses should support multidisciplinary approaches in their duties to help offer quality care (Glogowska et al., 2015). Medical errors will be witnessed in treating heart failure when nurses fail in communication. Research findings are based on responses from the interviews and are easily transferable. Most of the patients interviewed claim that some nurses ignore the need for interpersonal relationships between them, and such ignorance causes errors in treatment.
