To whom it may concern
It is with great pleasure that I strongly recommend Mr.Rijumon for the doctoral program at the Department of Geophysical Sciences, University of Chicago. He is one of the most exceptional students I have supervised during my tenure at CSIR- National Institute of Oceanography. I would say that Rijumon ranks among the top 10% of all students that I have taken under my supervision. He has an excellent capacity for scientific inquiry and the innate ability to work independently while contributing significantly as a part of a research group. He has motivation and dedication in abundance, and indeed very passionate about the subject, geology, and in particular, the field of geochemistry. His skills and talent suggest that he would be an ideal fit for your esteemed doctoral program.
I have supervised the research work that he had conducted as a research intern at the Geological Oceanography Division of CSIR- National Institute of Oceanography, Goa. He has shown an immaculate research acumen and an untiring dedication in solving the problem assigned to him. I can especially vouch for his expertise in laboratory-based techniques and aptitude in analytical geochemistry, having supervised him throughout two months. He came with a strong background in theoretical geochemistry and has honed them significantly, along with gathering a vast amount of experience in its experimental applications.
Rijumon has shown an immense capacity to work towards fulfilling an objective, and an intense eagerness to learn about various aspects of geochemistry as well. I distinctly remember his unwavering work ethic, with him working tirelessly, often late at night, or from the break of dawn to complete his set objective. Besides working on his main project, he has shown high intent to learn from being associated with various other projects as well. He is very eager to learn about the principles and operation of multiple laboratory tools and analytical instruments, mainly the MC-ICPMS. He was meticulous in mastering the operation of the device step-by-step and was also heavily involved in perfecting the laboratory protocols for sample preparation. He possesses a very diligent mind and leaves no stone unturned in trying to understand the science behind every procedure. His in-depth project report is a testament to his competency as a technical writer. It is evident through his writing that he possesses the ability to comprehend scholarly articles and incorporate them into his research appropriately. There are only a handful of people I have seen that combine such a focused mindset with a solid foundation in science. The qualities he possesses would make him an excellent candidate for any research group in his field of interest.
Aside from his academic capabilities, his forte lies in his positive outlook towards life, along with his accommodating nature. He works with a constant smile on his face and is always ready to help others to the best of his ability. The incredible efficiency with which he carries out his work is admirable, and he is always willing to go that extra mile in search of perfection. He is a very keen learner and is prompt to act upon feedback, to try and bring out the best in himself. His traits make him perfect for both the roles of an independent researcher and a significant contributing member of a research group. His tenacity and endurance, in addition to his optimistic attitude towards higher studies, ensures that he will be able to prosper in the doctoral program. I strongly recommend him to be selected for the doctoral program.
