Thank you for your assessment on the topic of core competencies and its relevance to the mental health counseling profession. I like your choice of the program learning objectives for the Organizational Leadership Develop specializing in Organization Diversity program as designing research, assessing the influence and impact of social, emotional, and cultural dynamics, create evidence-based systems and strategies, evaluate the effects of policies, appraise complexity, evaluate concepts, skills, and initiatives, design organizational learning, and apply leadership skills (Ashford University, 2019). I concur with you that Competency-based modeling
continues to increase in the business world since the inception of the internet and the increase of international companies (Sliter, 2015). I agree with you that organizations offer competency-based training that entails an initial assessment (Seemiller, 2016). Just like you, I believe that should ensure the employees have the correct competencies to complete one’s duties (Alhejji, Garavan, Carbery, O’Brien, & McGuire, 2016). Professional journals, seminars, webinars, and conferences influence the emergence of new information, which leads to changes in procedures or thoughts (Alhejji et al., 2016; Bezrukova, Spell, Perry, & Jehn, 2016; Burke, 2018; Kim & McLean, 2015). Just like you, I believe that the ability to apply individual learning through practical applications, whereas having a terminal degree is significant.
I like your selection of the courses that have been the most important in assisting you to develop and refine the competencies required for success in your future professional pursuits. Just like you, I would have selected Cross-Cultural Communications, Cross-Functional
Diversity, Theory for Diversity of Work, and Diversity in the Workplace because they instill an individual with the capability to understand cultural and emotional intelligence. I concur with you that writing in a scholarly voice is a challenge for many academicians. Just like you, I believe that increasing the standards of professors or establishing a writing course.
