Anzaldua looks into the various forms through which cultural tyranny is revealed. Arguably, the author associates the aspects of cultural oppression as the reason behind the gender inequality that weighs heavily on the females. She points out the element of beating wives as a form of cultural tyranny. Arguably the article sheds light on the fact that most communities encourage wife battering, arguing that it is a method of instilling discipline and respect in the wives. The article further points out the aspect of sexual orientation as another form of cultural tyranny. There are so many cultures in which people have been killed as a result of identifying with a sexual orientation that has not been encouraged by society.  This article will be useful in creating a persuasive argument about the sexual orientation that arises in the play, Lydia. Ideally, the reception of the community concerning the sexual orientation identified can be adequately supported by the arguments made by Anzaldua concerning the idea of cultural tyranny.

In her work, Fetta addresses the nature of the relationship that arises between Ceci and Lydia. Arguably, the author relates the relationship between these two as that of doppelgangers. By exploring the various complexities arising from the construction of these characters, the director of the film Lydia effectively constructs these characters. On the one is an illegal Mexican migrant and on the other hand, is a young Chicana with a disability. Fetta effectively evaluates the construction of the relationship between the two, intending at understanding some of the features that seal their bond. This source offers insight that can contribute effectively to the arguments that are directed to the character development throughout the story. As such, the source will be useful in writing the above research paper.

This source illustrates the story of a young Chicana girl who has to live with a disability for the rest of her life. The story then introduces the protagonist, Lydia, who is not only an illegal immigrant from Mexico but also works as a house help in Ceci’s house, and since Ceci’s accident, Lydia is the only one who has been able to understand what Ceci says. As the play progresses, the family of Ceci continues to face several other challenges that they overcome while Lydia catalyzes others. Even so, Solis effectively exhaustively explores different themes such as transgression and borders to enhance the cohesiveness of the play.  Arguably, the narrations of the play are a reflection of society during high rates of immigration. This source can be useful in taking note of the various scenes through which events occurred and using them to refer to the remaining arguments in the paper.

Unlike surrealism, the aspect of realism, as depicted in art, contributes to the construction of the aesthetics of a film. This article will be useful in evaluating the thematic constructions of borders in the play.  The article will enhance the applicability of the various forms of the film, such as the language spoken by the disabled and its role in the play.
