Bossy people are those individuals who to some extent, are tasked with a responsibility or power that needs to be honoured. They tend to direct others, exercise a lot of authority, but it does not necessarily mean they are in charge of the subject. Such person can be someone’s friend, sister, spouse, a coworker, or even a traveller sharing a bus together. Bossy people can make somebody’s life miserable if not wise to handle them.  As a Christian one has to apply the strategies below to live with such persons.

Let go frustrations. Somebody playing bossy on you can be frustrating, intimidating, angering or causing low-self-esteem. Create to yourself a favorable environment and let these negativities go. Avoid argument. Always remain silent before bossy people after expressing your opinion. It is always wise to maintain your temper when around a bossy person. Although it is not a good experience to have somebody take over you, it’s advisable one remains calm. Denounce politely when need be for denouncing their behavior over you. Proverbs 15:1. “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Before reacting to bossy people always reflect on yourself. Find if there is any reason the person could be behaving bossy on you and solve it. You can change yourself but not your friend. Galatians 6:4 but each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. Prioritize your freedom. Feeling inferior to some people can make one feel victimized by their being bossy character. If somebody considers self as free any other thing gets in harmony unconditionally. Galatians 5:1 it is for freedom that Christ has set us free.
