The act starts with a monologue of Arkenholz, a young university student who is idealistic and has an interest in knowing about the rich. In his wonders and trying to find out the meaning of life, he encounters a man Hummel. They have an argument of the death of Arkenholz’s father, and Hummel seems to be outstanding; it creates an inciting incident. It continues with Arkenholz talking to the Milkmaid, who is taught to be a ghost; it creates a major incident of the play. The play continues with the tale of the colonel’s wife, who has been made all for a while. It continues to create a climactic incident with the confession at the table (Lee, Bong-hwan 300). The denouement of the play is the falling down of Hummel after everything about him is known and proceed to the cage.
- The reality of what happens in the play is based on the different acts by the cast of the play. The actors have their role played accordingly, and their personalities lead to the flow of the play. All the events have a relationship with each other, and this is the success of the play. In the end, all the characters have a major contribution to the act of the play. The biggest strength of the play is that it does not require one to use alto of knowledge to understand the play.

The protagonist in the play is Arkenholz, as he is the one who has direct links and relationship with the ghost. His action relates to the ghost, and he talks to the ghost. he is even referred to as the “Sunday boy.” His contribution to achieving the main goal of the play is seen in his links with the other characters. In addition to that, he has all the access in the play of all the other characters. He is the biggest actor and contributor to the play, and he plays his part effectively. Hummel plays the role of the antagonist in the play as he tries to bring down the message of the play. He is seen as being distractor in all his actions, and this is what the role of an antagonist. The role played by the Milkmaid in the play is that of the narrator. She almost has a key feature for the protagonist.

The actors of the play state the words as in the script and show them effectively. The use of poetic is used to demonstrate the ancient acting; it is though not rhyming.
- Music and Musicality
Music and musicality have been dominated in the play by the little Theater in bringing the message. Background music is mainly used on a different occasion to show how the event is progressing. The music is more that of soap opera to show the success of the events as they bring the message. The content message of the play is well brought with the music, which is also used by directors.

The staging of the place is in line with the arrangement that is more visible from the audience’s point of view. The audience sees the stage set in some pictures that represent the authors and their role. In addition to that, the stage is more of the title of the play and the pictures of TheaterTheater. Other things in the theater stage are the crew ready to make everything happen accordingly.
The play creates a terrific spectacle in terms of the staging. The stage opens with Arkenholz, who thinks to himself about all his desires to be rich one day. It is more terrific to notice that his fortune was taken away, and he can do nothing about it. What is most terrific is the ghost in the play and death of Hummel when he can’t control his desires for wealth.
The lighting design dominates the play towards bringing the theme of the play and making it a success. The lights are not more decoration but keep changing from one light to another based on the events. The lights are more of communicating the message in the color of light.
The costumes of the actors have played a major role in the demonstration of the play message and making it a success. The costumes in the play are more of the well-designed clothes such as the coat and the pants. They relate to the person as described in the script.

The convection of the play is that actors play in a different role. The directors achieve this by dimming the lights.

In acting from the inside, the director makes sure that he uses August Strindberg’s direction in making every part of the play success. He does this by making sure that all the costumes and exact words, as in the play. In addition to that, the director also makes sure that all the actors have similarities to the play requirements. It what made the play to be a success at the end of everything.
Outside acting is also evident in the play, though on a few occasions, as presented by the actors. It is majorly in terms of how the actors make their performance in terms of how they feel it will suit the events.
