Project Trauma Support
According to the article, the first theoretical approach applied is the theoretical framework interdisciplinary. The theory can be stated to have been used in the article because the authors have tried to look for the connection that exists between the stress the military people go through and how that is related to the work and the experiences they go through every day (Joannou, Besemann, & Kriellaars, 2017). The idea of trying to find the connection between two opinions and predict the outcome is characteristic of the interdisciplinary approach. The theory is also used in trying to understand a phenomenon, like in the article where the researchers try to find the connection between the experiences of military police and their lack of sleep.
In the article, there are broader debates about the system versus the actor. In the section, it has been shown how the present governing system can help the people in the military who undergo through stress hence unable to manage their lives (Joannou, Besemann, & Kriellaars, 2017). Since the actors, who are the police, are ready to be helped by the government, more effort should be put to help them. The system can implement programs to teach the military how to go about their problems and overcome the problem of stress and lack of sleep. The article has also shown a debate about society versus an individual. It has been shown that the relationships the military people have with their outside environment and the people surrounding them can affect their lives in some cases bring stress. They should put their self above that and know how they can handle their lives without being concerned with such an issue.
