Protests in Assam
Protests are hunky-dory, but protest is worse when it can’t conclude soon. It is quite apparent that people who are protesting need their land to be in the bill, and if the government isn’t valuing their words, they will definitely say no to CAB. If the government can’t add these communities’ right in the bill, then the government need to take other initiatives to protect them right after passing the bill. I support CAB as immigrants are getting a chance to enjoy the rest of their life in their own country without hesitation.
If the government is not taking the protests seriously, then it is violating the Assam Accord. There was a lot of votes found in 1979, bypoll and Bangladeshi immigrants did this. Violation continued, and around 800 people were killed. Taking care of the protection of the natives, Centre has signed the Assam Accord in 1985 and expelled those immigrants from the native land. Basically, the detection date was March 25, 1971. But, CAB came up with a new date that is December 31, 2014, and violating the Assam Accord.
Clause 6 of the Assam Accord includes the safety concerns of the Assamese. So, if the government is taking a great initiative, it can’t violate other laws to pass this. CAB is good, but the CAB isn’t good for Assamese. CAB should be imposed for Indians regardless of inner line, boundaries, and others. If they are Indians, they should have the same rights.
