Using technology, students can now access a wide range of information that can help them reinforce what they were taught in class. It has been noted that students understand better in class when they feel like they are not in the category. Technology in class allows students to interact with information according to once preference. Students find technology a better place to store a bulk of information and also access the information anywhere they are.
However, adoption of technology into learning systems comes with its own set of challenges. Negative attitude towards technology has been cited as one of the major hindrances of regular use of technology in nursing programs which could be as a result of reduced use of technology by students. Acquiring, installing and maintaining technology is very expensive; many nursing programs tend to shy away from integrating their operations with technology due to this. A study conducted on students on the challenges they face using technology at home and school showed that most students agreed that the initial cost of acquiring a gadget is high. The maintenance cost of the device is high too.
