Surroundings form the core of any individual, their way of thinking, expression and mentality. The external environment directly or indirectly impacts psychological and physical traits. The critical people involved in the environment includes parents, siblings, neighbours, friends, co-employees etc. A perfect example is when a child from a well to do family has all the tenacity to go for engineering or medical.

Right from childhood, the boy or a girl adapts from the surrounding environment. The instincts are automatically grafted in the intuition. Though personality is identified as a unique characteristic, the surrounding has some input in its growth. In many cases, the person later decides to override the naturally driven instincts. According to researchers career choice has a close relationship with the environment. For example, a crisis situation often helps any successful individual to find ways to battle the crisis for others. Often these people are among the close peers or people living around the individual.

Similarly, the environment in any workplace affects the employees. The result of environment is more felt and understood in an organisational situation. If there is a laid back attitude of the organisation, even the most dynamic employee would eventually start slouching. Environmental surrounds a person, and its qualities engulf a person like a habit. Similarly, an active organisation can motivate even the most mediocre employee. The performance results can drastically change when the person is inducted into a more positive and dynamic environment.

In scientific terms, environmental influence has been recorded to affect the expression of the gene. Imagine a child born in a war-stricken country, he or she would find it challenging to adopt in any peaceful environment. The concept is tightly knit at professional places where people develop qualities based on the environment. Next time choose a professional background which suits you or at least help you to develop and grow.
