managerial issues affecting networked organizations
A networked organization is the one that is connected by networks (Macedo & Camarinha-Matos, 2017). It may consist of independent organizations or business units which use various methods of managing and controlling their businesses. These organizations may interact and benefit in one way or the other. In most cases, networked organizations are found in businesses that deal with products and service provision. Proper management is critical when it comes to the success of an organization. For appropriate management, organizations need to make use of the information systems which assist in various ways. The networked organizations share information and resources which help them achieve their set objectives. Some managerial issues that the networked organizations face. I read two articles that explained major managerial issues affecting networked organizations.
The first article explained more about the accumulation of data (Kumar & Kirthika, 2017). In networked organizations, data management turns out to be a big challenge. The information which is shared by the different organizations through the network is stored in a database. The information should be appropriately managed to avoid some complications. The managers in various departments should be ready to use the available resources to manage the data. To manage big data, managers need to use different data analysis tools. The cost of data management may be a problem where the organization will use a lot of money.
The second article explained the issue concerning security (Lafuente, 2015). When it comes to the management of the networked organization, security is a crucial concept. Attackers can exploit the use of the network to accomplish their attacks. The information shared through the network should be well secured from any attacks. Networked organizations should employ IT specialists who can handle security issues without significant difficulties. Networked organizations are also affected by high competition. If competition is not dealt with, then the networked organizations may end up failing. The different levels of management should be involved in ensuring that the networked organization runs smoothly. The low-level managers should not leave the task to the top-level managers.
